This is very nice. Like people have already said it will be very nice to see emulators with a TV output like this. I want to play Mario Bros and Street Fighter on the TV using my phone as the controller!

Proof of concept, but I agree... Nobody (I hope) bought an iphone to be an HD gaming system...

I like the fact that I can come here and read news without having to go to 5 different sites to get it all. Just because it is posted elsewhere doesn't mean it shouldn't be here.

I can't see myself playing an iPhone game on my TV though, but for those that will I am sure this is a good beginning.

I read somewhere that this was done with the iPod Touch. The article said that the Touch has a faster processor than the iPhone, and that this could only be performed by the touch. Not sure how true that is though

seriously, do your homework before you call something lame and stupid or claim someone posted fake stuff. When the dev team said they were going to be able to unlock the baseband for the iPhone to be used on other carriers i suppose you called that fake and an attention grabbing story too. This is real, and i cant wait until its released.

Woooowww.. Noobs?? Are there really that many noobs on an iphone forum. Maybe its my information technology degree or maybe my experience that makes me laugh at this.. let me try and explain this nicely.

Saying this is fake is like saying its impossible for a leaf to grow from a tree. What these guys are doing has been done already by a diff group of iphone developers on the 2nd gen iphone and this actually isnt a huge deal. Actually I cant give to much information away but I am in development with someone at the Patent office, and an Computer Engineer/Mac specialist in developing something similar except you play it more so like a Wii. You will throw with the iphone signaling a lets say "basketball shot" or you may throw it signaling a "jab or punch".

Again if you think this is fake I have to chuckle : )

What are you going on about? All this is the same as the first post saying that the game is coming out with a tv out version. You posted nothing about tv out for the whole iphone. Thats what I was asking about.

I just saw few posts and then could not read any more.. had to post what I noticed..
1st : the game uses the iPhone's accelerometer for input and steering while routing the game's video through a video-out cable to the TV.

2nd. if you watch the Video..
@ 40secs says " Touching the screen to keep the ipod from going to sleep":

and @ 45 secs says : " gas button does nothing, turned touch events off"

GUYS.. if this grows.. and I AM SURE IT WILL..
I see a new generation of tools to play on TV.. imagine.. a small box where you can slide the phone in.. and use suctions to make a joysticks.... anyways if any one is smart.. they would start making prototypes.

Hmm, maybe, just maybe, you read it in the ORIGINAL NEWS POST where it says exactly that.

Also, people complaining about it being fake are idiots. It says specifically IN THE VIDEO that touch events are turned off, and that he's only touching the screen to keep the touch from going to sleep.


Seriously, does anybody even read the news posts at all? I swear if it weren't for the forum theme I would think I'm reading slashdot comments or something....

I'm guessing that the code they found is the same code Apple uses to play movies from the IPhone on TVs.

from my personal experience, I have found that the types of people who are quick to cry 'fake' are usually the small minded people that don't bring about positive change or progress in life, but are simply leeches of those that have the vision and ability to conceive, develop and produce.

I just love developers and what they bring to the table.... More power to them. I remember when computer experts thoughts that the average consumer would never need any more than a gig of memory or storage. That was not so long ago. Now we have more power in our handheld devices than supercomputers of the past and some fools doubt that TV-out gaming from the iPhone is likely to be a fake, when the iPhone is already a TV-out capable device and our iPhones have a dedicated GPU [albeit a light version] from a tv gaming console from the past. Doesn't sound so unfeasable to me, but the likelyhood that the skeptics here are merely children with no vision seems more likely to me than this news being fake!!
