Wow..Steve Jobs is my favorite business man ever. He is so smart to make each and every iPhone customer happy - new and old alike! =)

Dude! This guy is a marketing Genius! He knows exactly how to play good cop bad cop! i might just go out and buy a Mac with my $100 store credit..............not! i love my pc and was very concerned about my first Apple product, but I have had nothing but good things to say about my iphone. Support is great, customer service is great, even ATT is not a bad carrier (and probably getting much better, much sooner with all that extra $$$$$ from the activations of the $399 iphone this christmas!!) Let's hope they do the right thing and spend the cash improving the network.
Not everyone makes the best decisions when breaking into a new market (cell phones) but it is really nice to see apple living up to it's reputation and easing the pain a little. Jobs is good. He realizes that reputation means much more to end users in the long run than upfront bucks. You'd never see Bill Gates give anything back! Let's hope they keep it up for a while.
i don't want an iphone for christmas, but a 3G update for my 8GB would be great.( or maybe even an A2DP update for those shiny new motorola S9's in my stocking!)
Thank you Mr. Jobs!!!

all that ******** that steve jobs said about "technology is bumpy" didnt hold in the long run. the 16GB 3g iphone that will come out is not new technology, neither is the 8gb version any different from what it was when it was released. But the important thing was that he realized his and apples misstake, and doing something about it. lowering the price like that is like taking getting educated at the best university, then just disregard everything you learned. you just dont do that.

so how would they know who got it for $600, if you don't still have your receipt? is there a way they can do it by the serial number or when you registered your phone?

I'm curious how many of you were concerned enough to write in?
I surely wrote a 1000+ word letter to SJ and a few other Apple execs - I even CCed the editors for theConsumerist. Looks like it didn't go unnoticed.

It was all planned out, if you do the math it makes sense. watch this
if they would give us a 200 rebate or store credit we could buy exactly an apple blue tooth ear piece and have enough to pay for the apple care for the phone. and they still got our money and everyone is happy. JUST MY .02

I wrote a good 600 word letter to one of the emails that was provided on a link on iphone support, someone had said we should mass email through this person. Dont recall it right now, but hearing this I feel a bit justified. And there i was telling people, when you maintain loyalty to someone and you feel cheated, you have to fight for it....but were those people listening....nooo, anyhow good job Shescake!
