Can something like this be done to the iphone 3g to downgrade it? or could one just follow these steps to downgrade the baseband?

Probably a dumb question, but I have an iPhone 3G running on 2.2. If I jailbreak and then apple release say 2.3 and I update before jailbroken again. What will happen to my iphone 3G? Will it be working normal just not jailbroken?

VolPover3G seems not working after upgraded to 2.2;

Categories also apparently not able to hide Apps after updating Apps.

Anybody having the above problems?

I have 3G iPhone 2.2 JB with Winterboard, MobileSubstrate, Backgrounder, Intelliscreen, QuickGold installed.

Just to let all of us Window users know....After 2 days of a headaches and getting nowhere except a bunch of restores..for whatever reason, QuickPwn will not work for 2.2 on Windows Vista...atleast for me and I've seen a couple post with this problem. I finally got out my laptop with good old XP and worked like a charm! QuickPwn works with 2.1 > firmware on Vista but with 2.2 it puts the phone into recovery mode and gets stuck as if QuickPwn doesn't realize the phone has reconnected in recovery mode. Maybe an update will fix but I am running Windows Vista Premium SP1 and came up with this conclusion..hope I prevent a headace or two or even a breakup with your g/f lol

2.2 will break any previous apps?

Question:
I treasure my Genesis4iphone, mame4ipone, etc, will upgrading to 2.2(jailbroken) break any of the existing apps?

here's my story:

i was currently running 2G iPhone 2.0.2 jailbroken. PC user.

here are the steps i took towards jailbreak 2.2

1. Download Quickpwn
2. download new 2.2 iphone firmware
3. update itunes to the latest
4. sync/backup iphone
5. updated iPhone firmware through itunes using "Shift-Restore".
6. After 5-8 minutes, phone was 2.2 jailed.
7. i restored my jailed iphone from previously backup.
8. opened up quickpwn, plug in usb
9. and follow quickpwn's instructions
10. after 15 minutes, i had a beautiful 2G 2.2 jailbroken iphone.

i had a couple of hacked apps on 2.0.2 but i don't think they work on 2.2 because i get an error everytime i tried to install one.

i like the safari browser and google street view is awesome.

one thing i noticed is when i installed a winterboard theme, the top part of the screen is not visible in apps like NOTES and AppStore. when i uninstall it, it's visible again.

I know this was only to have a Jailbroken 2.2, but does it maintain the unlock?
I'm still on 2.1, unlocked, JB'd, on 1st gen iPhone, using T-Mobile.

ok so i had a 2.0.1 jailbrken iphone 3g (using winpwn) and now i decided to upgrade to 2.2....so i used a macbook (the new 2008 version if that matters) and the pwnage tool to create my custom ipsw and went through the whole process following the guide step by step.....once i created the custom ipsw n the mac i went to my pc where my backup of my iphone was created and restored using the custom ipsw through itunes on the pc...after backing up and everything i checked my phone and i have 2.2 but it says at the top no service and i cant make any calls...(i bought my iphone from rogers and i use a rogers sim card and everything was working fine before doing this whole upgrade to 2.2)i would really appreciate if anyone knows a fix for this and can help, also how can i know that my baseband is intact and did not upgrade? thanks
