Trouble with Bootneuter
Hi guys,
I'm trying to pwn my 2g iphone to version 2.2. I had 2.0 on it before, which I had pwn'd previously.
When I start to build my ispw, it says that i don't have the proper Bootneuter v3.9. I have already downloaded it through firefox from the mirror site listed, decompressed it using stuffit, and the file is stored as bl39.bin and bl46.bin. When I browse to open the file, it says the same thing. I converted the files to bl39bin.cpgz and bl46bin.cpgz no luck either. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Please help

my 3G is already on 2.2, can I still jailbreak or did I need to jailbreak before I updated to 2.2 thru itunes?

I've been jailbroken on a 2G since 1.1.3.
However, since upgrading and JB'ing 2.2 I'm having all sorts of wonky issues with my phone.
Vibrate is only working sporadically. Upon awaking my phone, my lockscreen will flash on and off. I'm getting the red battery screen when it's not low. My "slide to unlock bar" seemingly sticks for no reason. I get pretty noticable stock app startup lag such as with SMS and Settings.
These issues seem to be remedied after a reboot, but soon return.
The bizarre part is, I haven't even put any JB apps on my phone yet. I upgraded, JB'ed, then synced. As I've done several times before.
I'm not sure what to think at this point and may begrudgingly have to go back to stock.

Here's a torrent link I used for my 3g (AT&T user): a custom ipsw that was pwned using the dev teams pwn tool, so you can enjoy the benefits of 2.2 now w/o messing with your baseband. This has the apple logo and installer and cydia too. This will give you 600mb on your partition as well. It works perfectly for me so here it is:
Demonoid.com - iPhone 3g 2.2 custom ipsw

Dude, your baseband has been updated. So you can still use quickpwn and get the benefits of cydia etc., but because your baseband has been udpated, LOW (to none) chances for an unlock. You may not even care if you plan on keeping your phone but resell values are much higher for unlocked iphones.

Code retard posted this> http://www.coderetard.com/2008/07/14...-and-baseband/
Can something like this be done to the iphone 3g to downgrade it? or could one just follow these steps to downgrade the baseband
i went to the link and read, i dont know much, but it seems to be working. i know its talking about iphone 2.5/ first gen, if this could be done on that model, why not iphone 3G? just asking.

I updated my 2g using the iclarified tutorial. It uses quickpwn for windows. Took about 45 mins and was super easy. Can't link it at the moment but try a search thru their tutorials.

Okay, I've scanned and not seen my issue. I was already on 2.2 when this jailbreak came out. I'm not worried about unlocking so that's covered, but I tried the jailbreak and once it rebooted I had no network. Any thoughts? Could the updated baseband have anything to do with this?is there a way to jailbreak? If not, how about down grading?
I'm not TOO worried, just want some of my apps, but I can wait...

Hi,
First of all I must apologize if the question has been asked/answered already.
Info:
Phone: iPhone 3G
Status: Jailbroken
Carrier: AT&T
Firmware: 2.0
Computer OS: Windows
I was wondering if I can upgrade directly to 2.2 from 2.0 or if I must update from 2.0 to 2.1 and then 2.2.
Lastly, I was wondering if my data would be deleted when updating the firmware (by data I'm referring to applications, settings, text, emails, cydia related stuff etc.)
Thanks.

Problem with Sim-lock
I have 3G AT&T
Use it in other country with other carrier with help of GEVEY 3G.
Used to have 2.1 firmware
By mistake installed 2.2 Since then can not use device as a phone.
Downgraded to 2.1 Still impossible to call etc
Installed QuickPwn22-1.exe and done all its manual. Phone is jailbroken, but anyway I can not see network. (It only comes up for 2 seconds and then phone says -no network-
What should I do to solve the issue?
I use Windows Vista
Thanks in advance for your assist

From what i have read, the baseband is updated on the iphone 3G if you installed the 2.2 firmware. At this time, there is no way to downgrade thus the us of all tools used to unlock will no longer work... I believe you now have an ipod touch...
Sorry, hopefully i am wrong.
I assuming this is when you are using Pwnage. Try putting the phone in DFU mode manually then start the process.Last edited by dmighty; 11-29-2008 at 07:19 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
