I've noticed that after the 2.2 update/jailbreak everything worked fine except when I enabled Mcleaner and selected to block private and unknown calls. My iPhone would ring then it would crash so I disabled the block on the private and unknown and now it doesn't crash anymore. Just thought I post this incase anyone else is having a similar problem. Prolly got to wait for a Mcleaner update.

I have an issue...
I updated to FW2.2 through iTunes, then used QuickPwn2.2 (windows) to UNlock/Jailbreak. Everything went fine, except it didn't seem to activate... When i put my T-Mobile SIM in, T-Mobile shows up as the Service Provider, but doesn't allow me to use the phone because it's trying to activate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well first off it could be 2 or 3 different reasons. 1 I would remove the simcard when upgrading and jailbreaking then close itunes when you are jailbreaking. You really don't need the simcard in until u actually are done installing all your little toys and gadgets and what not. Try it all over again, when itunes finishes restoring close it then jailbreak without the simcard.

iTunes doesn't recognize iPhone 2.1 anymore
OK friends,
Now I have the problem that iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone 2.1, so I can't update to 2.2. What do you think is the problem here??
What I have to do now so it works again??

Try putting your phone in recovery mode by plugging in the usb cable with itunes closed. Turn off your iPhone then press the home button and the power button at the same time when the apple or pineapple or whatever logo u have comes on let go of the power button and continue to hold the home button and if it was previously jailbroken u will have that tall skinny dude pop on the screen or just a picture of a usb cable and itunes. Then open up itunes, it will automatically recognize that it is in recovery and give u the option to restore. Then just click restore then it will update and restore to 2.2 then you can jailbreak.

Alright tried to unlock my iPhone twice with QuickPwn and not working. Using a guide found on another site to do it pretty simple really, just like all the other guides. You need to restore and update your current iPhone to 2.2 to get QuickPwn to work, since it uses the firmware that is on your device. Then use your regular old bl-39 and bl46 along with and let it rip. QuickPwn uses it's own boot / recovery logos. I haven't had any luck with unlocking it yet even though I follow the instructions word for word. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

C'mon, guys! I have already upgraded to 2.2, and am using the latest pwnage for mac. It goes to create the custom .ipsw file, and can't and tells me so, and can't continue. What can I do to remedy this?

You placed it in recover mode with itunes closed. itunes has to be closed b4 u even plug in the usb cable to the iphone to put it in recovery mode. Then open itunes. If it does go into recovery mode and itunes still does not recognize it please post exactly what it is or what it says that it is doing.

Can someone w/ a Mac please make a custom ipsw with pwangetool for 3G. I want to jailbreak & still have the option of software unlocking in the future. I am using isim hardware unlock for T-Mo USA... So it would be great if it had cydia, no custom logos, & activated. If It's already made & posted someplace please point me in the right direction. PLEASE DO NOT GUESS OR USE 3RD PARTY INFO. I DO NOT WANT TO UPDATE MY BASEBAND & SCREW MYSELF. THANK YOU.
Tattoojack was this made w/ pwangetool on a Mac? I have a 3G 16g jailbroken/unlocked w/isim hardware on T-MO USA & dont want to update the baseband. Thanks.Last edited by infamous12550; 11-24-2008 at 05:43 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Alright I figured this out. When you restore your iPhone to 2.2, use the firmware you downloaded from modmyi.com. Put the SIM card you want to use in the Phone then run quickpwn to jailbreak and unlock the phone. This worked for my 2G iPhone. Any questions just send me a PM.
