Firmware 2.2 JAILBROKEN

successfully jailbroke 3g using macbook in expert mode. restored using "option-restore" and used the custom ispw...got cydia, etc...everything seems fine.

Is anyone having problems getting into their directories? tried on my macbook, and even tried iphonebrowser on windows...won't pull up dirctories.

i'm trying to drop some files in, and change some system pics and sounds.

I recently just jailbroke 2.2 on my legit iphone 3g but Im having some issues. First thing is i wasnt able to delete any of my emails. I use aol. And now I just noticed that when I open the mail app it just crashes to the homescreen. I also noticed that I have no wifi anymore either. I should have it but in the settings by wifi it just says no wifi. Im gonna do a restore and then wait to jailbreak again to see if the problems with the update or the jailbreak. I used quickpwn for windows if anyone else knows how to fix these issues or has a solution please let me know. Thanks


edit: I fixed the mail issue by going into settings/mail/advanced/deleted mail. Once in there I clicked on saved which is loctaed on the server, then clicked back on trash which is located on the phone and now I can delete my emails.

After jailbreaking my battery life is horrendous, for the first time ever my iPhone battery died on me. Didn't even use it, was in my pocket all day and after 9-10 hours the battery warning appears that only 10% was remaining, 10 mins later batterys dead.

just got back from Costa Rica and phone is dead. just got done updating and JB'ing as i am charging up. it will be 100%, obviously, when complete and i will let you know how mine is, how long it takes, etc.

anyone else experiancing poor battery life????????

Just updated two 2g phones

updated in itunes 8.0.2
then did the jailbreak with quickpwn 2.2
and that's it

too easy

I did not do a back up
and i still have everything but the cydia apps
everything working well

best update in a while, everything is working super smooth

Has anyone posted a custom ipsw? Pwnage isn't working for me. After it asks to enter the password from my computer it says it failed. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've looked through some of the pages but I don't have hours to search through them all. If anyone happens to know what page one might be on that would be a huge help. Oh and I have the 3G using Mac OS X

There is a custom ipsw for windows on page 20 by tattoojack, & I have repeatedly asked if it only updates the firmware & not the baseband... I also was WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS UPDATED THEIR 3G TO 2.2 & THEIR HARWARE UNLOCK (ISIM, SMARTSIM, GEVEY, TURBOSIM) ARE STILL WORKING. I see a few people said there's weren't, but they kinda sounded like neewbs so I want someones input that has done the update & does, or doesn't have service now trying to use a hardware unlock... Thank you!

simple fix people who cant pwn from 2.1..

update from 2.1 to 2.2 through iTunes. then use the 2.2.isp file with quickpwn and vwalla....

you MUST update to 2.2 through iTunes first....

I got it working. After reading the guides a second time I realized I had to update to 2.2 via iTunes first.

I didn't use aptbackup so now I must manually copy my backed up 3rd party apps. Oh well. at least I'm on 2.2.
2.2 seems to be much quicker in opening apps. I dig that.

I just tried to update 2.2 and the QuickPwn 2.2 (Windows) doesn't accept the restore file (iPhone1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw), it's requesting for the restore file 2.1.

(to enable Emoji on any iphone add this source to installer:
[i.ifon1.no]and look for package called Emoji everywhere v.1

Emoji "Enable Japanese Emoji on your iphone"

Then merely go to the Keyboards section of the Settings app, hit Japanese, and turn on Emoji. Will work for any text field/view in the OS, including on websites, AND including the titles of items on SpringBoard (e.g. if you save a bookmark to the home screen).

Did you updated your iPhone via iTunes first? Quickpwn is not design to upgrade your iPhone. It is design to jailbrake already upgraded iPhones. Therefore, you would need to update first, and then use quickpwn to jailbreak. The error you are getting is likely because you have 2.1 on iPhone and using 2.2 in quickpwn.

I must say its a simple process and definatly worth doin for me the street views is off the hook and the overall responsiveness of the phone is faster.

For those with t-mobile and 2nd Gen iphone with a mac or Hackintosh using leopard 10.5.3 this may help you.

What's Needed:
First be sure you have quickpwn 2.2 for MAC
Second make sure you have f/w 2.2 I used this one

What to do:
I used iTunes 8 ran the shift/restore method and chose the firmware.
when it finished I opened QuickPwn ran that and Done!

Very simple process.

My iPhone:
Unlocked --> T-Mobile, Jailbroke with 2.2 firmware - running great

This is what I did and it worked perfectly!! I'm running Hackintosh 10.5.2 with iTunes 8.0.2 1st Gen 16GB iPhone. I jumped from 2.0.x directly to 2.2 with no probs. Follow what Bklynjava said, but instead of shift/restore, make sure you option/restore on a Mac at least, don't know about windows though. Good luck all!

I got a quick question for u guys... When i jailbreak my iphone 1st generation and the iphone 3g...when i insert a tmobile sim card a itunes logo pops up, and when u take the tmobile simcard out it goes back to normal did i do something wrong???....

Do you have the most up-to-date version of QuickPwn? Are you using the 2G firmware or the 3G firmware? There is (I believe) a different firmware file for 3G and 2G phones. If i'm wrong... do you have the most up-to-date version of QuickPwn? :P

I have a Unlocked Jailbroken 1st Gen iPhone 2.1 My question is Can I upgrade threw iTunes to 2.2 and run QuickPwn to jailbreak and unlock?
