Firmware 2.2 JAILBROKEN

it really is, cuz when u upate ur 3G, its baseband is updated as well, so it pretty tough to unlock or downgrade
just curious, u have ATT why would u wanna unlock it, just jailbreak it and use all the stuff for free, and also it take round an hour to do so

the reason i want to unlock my phone is because i travel outside the country and i want to use my phone on local sim.

i cannot downgrade? that just not right!

I always get a no boot loader bl3.9 message when I attempt to up-date to 2.2 software. Had the same problem when updating to 2.1. Do I need to down load new bl39, if so where do I find it?

really?! if i update on itunes, i have 3g att, i could not unlocked my cellphone? deng! if it is, can i downgrade my firmware to 2.1 and stil be able to unlock if it can be done on 2.2 fw ?

Well for the moment no you would not be able to downgrade back because the update upgrades the baseband....
Maybe the devs will come out with another lock later on....
you know apple will keep trying to re-lock our phones.!

same for me, but im using a iphone 2g. it fails every time. tried using quickpwn and that says its not supported with my current firmware. im gonna upgrade to the stock 2.2 and try again

Go to thebigboss.org and follow the guide. I have a 2g iPhone on T-Mobile and it's working fine.

Guys please i need some help i have the new iPhone 3G and i was using it with turbo SIM with T-Mobile i read about the new firmware and like a dumbass went and downloaded it to the iPhone now it does not detect the turbo SIM.

any suggestions??????????

Sorry, but right now theres very little that can be done......
you can try to downgrade but because the baseband was upgraded it may not work! Good luck

i upgraded to 2.2 and jailbroke it and now with the simcard and turbosim in my 3g iphone it only says no service... can someone help? whatd i do wrong? is there some specific setting i did incorrectly?

For those of you that said "I don't care about unlocking since I plan on staying with AT&T...blah blah blah" perhaps you have forgotten that should you decide to get a newer iPhone then when you go to sell yours on eBay or what ever, it will command a higher price(a much higher price) if it is unlocked. I.E. when I went to buy my iphone 3g I sold my 2g iphone 4gig for $475 because it was unlocked, and that was only a 2g 4gig iphone, imagine what you could sell an unlocked 16gig iphone 3g for? Also should you decided to travel outside the country and want to use a local SIM card then you would not be able to because you know damn well the controlling powers are keeping a death grip on those iphone 3g subsidy unlock codes(i.e. you would have to ask for one to unlock it in order to travel outside the country, otherwise correct me if I am wrong but I believe you are entitled to the subsidy unlock code if your contract runs out or you pay the early termination fee). Consider those two ideas before you go and lower your odds of being able to unlock your phone.

YOU "CAN" USE QUICKPWN 2.2 TO UPGRADE YOUR PHONE TO THE JAILBROKEN 2.2. I HAVE TESTED THIS ON AN AT&T PHONE WHERE THE UNLOCK WAS NOT NEEDED; SO I'M NOT SURE IF THE UNLOCK FEATURE WILL WORK. I'M A HAPPY OWNER OF A 2.2 JAILBROKEN 1st GENERATION IPHONE. THANKS TO THE DEV TEAM....*SHOTGUN APPLAUDS!!!*

everytime theres a new update... i restore with itunes and quickpwn and start all over with everything as far as apps. and what not... is there an easy i should be doing this in order not to have to download all over again, or is this the typical way everyone esle is doing it.

Same thing for me. At first it did install for me but it didn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and now I get the same message. Everything else seems to be working just fine. Anyone have any insight? Thanks.

Uh your screwed right now plain and simple. This is why it's been in BOLD EVERYWHERE telling 3G users NOT TO UPGRADE if they were wanting a software unlock in the future or if they are currently using a hardware unlock.

Do you set up your phone as new or from the backup made in itunes?

You can ssh all your apps into a file on your computer than when you finish your new upgrade ssh them back in!

Sweet, im now running 2.2, jailbroken+Unlocked on tmobile, and ive got edge settings working good, huuray for Stealing 3G network.
