has anyone tried the link on page 22 of this thread from iclarified to see if it works or not. I am in the middle of downloading the 2.2 fw and when it is done I am going to try it. If anyone has had a problem with it please let us know. Thanks

Every time I try to use the pwnage tool it comes up failed, I can't figure out what's going wrong. Any help, I've got a 3G on T-Mobile using a trubo SIM and using a Mac with the latest updates and newest os. Thanks

That's EXACTLy what's going on with me. i have an intel macbook and for some odd reason, it keeps on saying failed, i hope you figure it out soon cuz i've redownloaded, unzipped with both archieve utility AND the unarchiever and it's just not working...

should i just run it from the DMG?

Hi I have used iClarified every time I needed to unlock/jailbreak an iphone or ipod. It has always worked great for me

so is it safe to update through itunes with 2.1 to 2.2 using itunes? i heard updating takes up some space though instead of restoring but im not sure if anyone has linked a custom 1g 2.2 fw.

any one have their t mobile 1g working on 2.2 yet?

If your iphone is a 2g, than no worries it is only people with the 3g who can't update through itunes, if they hope to unlock their phone when the unlock becomes available.
I would retore just because updating takes up unnecessary room on your phone.

My story this time:

Jailbroken 3G would not update in Windows XP iTunes(left me in the connect to iTunes screen on the phone) so I never got to use Win quickpwn. I made custom restore file using Pwnage on the MacBook (without baseband update) and upgraded the phone using the MacBook.

Went back to XP iTunes (which I usually sync with) to do the restore from backup which brought back contacts, etc. Then did sync to bring back programs, photos, video, etc.

I believe that this was the routine I had to use at the last update...a little involved but it does give me a clean upgrade where i only lose the Cydia programs.

Well it looks like the phone wanted to have the baseband updated since after all that there was no ATT signal. Back to square one...did a clean restore via iTunes...checked that signal was there...used Win Quickpwn to jailbreak...signal still there and now jailbroken...downloaded Winterboard to check..okay. Syncing now. So much for church or football today!

same for me, but im using a iphone 2g. it fails every time. tried using quickpwn and that says its not supported with my current firmware. im gonna upgrade to the stock 2.2 and try again

really?! if i update on itunes, i have 3g att, i could not unlocked my cellphone? deng! if it is, can i downgrade my firmware to 2.1 and stil be able to unlock if it can be done on 2.2 fw ?

there is only a 3G guide for jailbreaking 2.2, but the page says a 2G guide will be coming soon. This is exactly what the guide for jailbreaking to 2.1 said, but no guide was ever given to us nice old school 2G iphoners. could you please get a 2G guide up and running, it would be most helpful and stress relieving! thanks.

I'm running 2.2 JB on TMO with no issues. Took about 10 minutes with OSX/Pwnage/iTunes.

it really is, cuz when u upate ur 3G, its baseband is updated as well, so it pretty tough to unlock or downgrade
just curious, u have ATT why would u wanna unlock it, just jailbreak it and use all the stuff for free, and also it take round an hour to do so

Sweet, im now running 2.2, jailbroken+Unlocked on tmobile, and ive got edge settings working good, huuray for Stealing 3G network.

Guys please i need some help i have the new iPhone 3G and i was using it with turbo SIM with T-Mobile i read about the new firmware and like a dumbass went and downloaded it to the iPhone now it does not detect the turbo SIM.

any suggestions??????????

i used the same mobileinstallation file as 2.1 and all my games still works .. wonder whats the difference with the 2.2 mobileinstallation file

why SSH them back, just sync them with iTunes. All you should need to do is to use mobileinstallation to get them to work.

Drag and drop the .ipa's into itunes, click sync and they should be there.
