Yes my cousin had this problem too.. but what he did was since he has two computers,, one running itunes 8 and the other itunes 7.7. he use the computer running itunes 7.7 to downgrade the phone to 2.0.2 and then used the computer with itunes 8 to upgrade back to 2.1 and unlock jailbreak it. hopes this helps

Hey, here's a custom 3g firmware a mac friend made for me with pwnage, posted to my rapidshare. It's 2.2, non-updated baseband, standard boot logos, cydia, and installer. A little help for all of you windows guys like me who would love to unlock in the near future.

WIll this jailbreak work for those of us with 1 gen iphone with Tmobile? I am on 1.1.4 jailbroken thru ziphone. Id love to update to 2.2! I just put cydia on my phone the other day! I am in the stone age!!!

AAAHHHHH!!!

I installed Quickpwn and I'am getting the apple symbol and the ususal 2 vibrates

. Its been an hour and the phone is still rebooting. Any suggestions? Is it because I have 7 pages of apps, lol.

Quickpwn should only be used on a freshly restored iPhone or only with 2-3 apps.

7 pages, hmmm yeah I don't think the iPhone will ever boot

Okay, I followed the instructions on the Dev teams page to a "t". Bittorrented "QuickPwn22.zip" for windows.

(i'm using XP)

Updated my phone via iTunes as per instructions.

Used Quickpwn22.

Jailbroke just fine. No problems there.

Installed Cydia and Installer fine, can access them both.

However I can't install anything! I was using aptbackup in hopes that it would do as it was written, however I can't seem to reinstall it. I thought maybe I should try something else, like Bosspreffs or Winterboard and still nothing.

Also, I don't seem to have all of these so-called "new features" like "street view". The update all button was there in "appstore", as well as the new features for the keyboard, but other then that I got nothing.

Any thoughts on the matter here?

this is odd, but apparently cydia for me is only installing over the WiFi network...

Another odd thing...

Is anyone elses phone running sluggish?

I had the same problem as you, so I went looking and found the below:-

For iphone original (2g) all defaults, unlocked, jailbroken activated

with AutoSSH and OpenSSH in Cydia packages (can be easily removed via Cydia).
with both Installer.app and Cydia.app (default for pwnage tool)
NO custom logos

Too many pages to read them all but just to clarify. If I dont care about unlocking my 3G in the future(I only want to use AT&T) then I can go ahead and jailbreak my iphone on my windows computer to 2.2 FW?

I try using Quickpwn22 and when it is on the first step preparing recovery mode before the holding home button for 5 seconds, it just sits there.

Did you update itunes, and then in recovery mode load the custom firmware? (like it was for 2.1 fw)
