No it will work fine. I'm saying you won't be able to use any upcoming software unlocks - if you have a legit 3G iPhone carrier you're fine.
Correct.
Correct.
If you own a legit O2 3G iPhone, then you are fine.
Sure - that's the same method as the 3G.
Yup. Guide will be live in a few minutes, just have to verify it worked on my iPhone before I give it to you guys.

I guess if you have a 3g, we have to wait for someone to post a custom firmware. DAMN!

I'm on att so I dont have to worry about unlocking. But I just want to jailbreak so what should I do? I want all the updates (like the baseband).

Well I have a 16gig 3g, and I'm locked to at&t, and I'm running widows vista. I can only use QuickPWN but I might want to unlock later on. Will they come out with an update to QuickPWN that will give us windows users a software unlock for our 3g's. If so I'll wait to upgrade and jailbreak 2.2

I jailbroke my iphone 2g and i noticed that there is no podcast and there is no street view.
wtf! is it because of no 3g? we still can use wifi, is there nayway to get those features...otherwise this was completely pointless for me.

For someone with a non jailbroken phone using 2.0 firmware, 3g iPhone with ATT wanting the eventual software unlock and wanting to update to 2.2 and using windows only, what are my options for jailbreaking? As far as I understand, I can use a pwnaged firmware file with the settings that I need (basically aTT service is only important one). If this is correct, where would I go about finding such pre jailbroken firmwares and what are the steps needed to get it working?
Thanks

I like the status bar underneath the apple logo on the restore.
Were any of you able to custom pwnage? I wasnt able to unclick Installer or add Cydia packages.
