When you type in an address and hit enter, a new icon pops up on the left side of the place. I think it's orange, on the opposite side of the > to get more information. Tap it for street view. It's pretty awesome. Vast improvement over zooming in from overhead.

This is correct, but remember not all streets are in the system yet. When you see the orange circle on the left, if it is colored in just tap it and you will get the street view. If it has a grey haze on it, it is not in the system yet for a street view. F.Y.I.

P.S. I had a G1, and Iphones load up and when spinning to get a 360 view is SSSSOOOOO much smoother than the G1.

Wait, apple had a change log and listed specific fixes and updates? Oh yeah....they are slipping, 6 or 7 more years and we will be getting copy and paste on these bad boys!
Of course our batteries will no longer hold a charge.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it, but the EMERGENCY CALL is fixed too.
When I had my phone locked with a password and you click Emergency Call, you could dial any number before... Now it doesn't let you.

My wife has a 3G and it is jailbroken but not unlocked. She is going to sell it. If we just do the standard "Upgrade to 2.2" from iTunes, will it just set the phone back to the unjailbroken status or is there a specific process I need to follow? I don't want to brick it.
I am keeping mine and don't really need 2.2 (yet)
Thanks!

Well I have an iPhone 2G, with unlocked via QuickPWN, I upgrade to the 2.2 firmware (not restore), and itunes show me the SIM CARD is not supported.
So I downgraded to 2.1 again.
No problem...
Waiting for 2.2 unlock.

GPS Improvement
I did the 2.2 upgrade and the main thing I noticed is that the GPS initializes and works much better that before. It used to take quite some time, even when in a perfectly clear location outdoors. Now, even in my house, the map starts to locate and gives me the GPS beacon almost immediately. This is also true for the Path Tracker and GPS Kit apps as well. Curious if anyone else noticed improvements.

No, you don't need to activate your phone again. It just updates the firmware and keeps everything (contacts, AppStore apps, music, etc.) as it was before the update (except for your jailbroken apps).
If you do the standard upgrade to 2.2 it will be like restoring your iPhone to the original non-jailbroken state. You will NOT brick your phone.
