Google Mobile App Still Not on iPhone (it's out now!)

Despite a New York Times story and the above video that was released that said the Google Mobile App was to be released as a free download this past Friday, “even the world's most successful internet company has to wait on the whim of Apple,” according to The Register.

The Google Mobile App is of course the app that allows iPhone users to speak in queries that will automatically launch a search. This Google App also links to all other Google applications (GMail, Google News, Maps etc). As these are bundleded together the OS will consider them a single application. The Register speculates, “it could even enable that holy grail of iPhone utility, cut and paste, to work between Google applications, though perhaps that's what's causing the delay.”

Hopefully it will be released soon!

Thanks for the update! I am really excited for this app and have been looking forward to probably more than any other app. So keep on bringing the updates!

Also, Copy and paste would be pretty amazing, even if it is only between the google apps.

1045 Eastern time jsut looked and the only thing we found was the original non- voice google maobile apps.

Is it still named google mobile app?

It's not there yet... I was watching all weekend for either an update to the Google mobile app, or something completely new, but it never came. I guess we have to wait a little longer! DAMN you Apple with your sexy hardware and strict rules!

Chances are its just going to be an upgrade to the current google mobile app

Right, but does anyone know if the has update has been submitted to Apple? Or is the bottleneck still at Google's R&D.

Well if you have read any other articles about this on Gizmodo or anything. I t has been submitted to Apple and they thought Apple would release it on Friday but it was still in review, and I am guessing that it is still in review. But yes it has been submitted to Apple and is just waiting on approval

i know that there was a post in the forums this weekend that someone got it from like new zealand or something. if you browse around maybe you can ask him how he got it. or it could have just been a faulty post????

It has been updated with voice. It doesn't say it in the description, but I clicked on the get app button and it said it's a free update! Go get it everyone! Yesss Sirrr!
