I knew about the rumor that the price was coming down in two months when I bought mine so I am not going to complain. I was willing to pay the 600.00 to have mine first and I absolutely enjoyed all the attention that it got. What's more I have modded the hell out of mine so when some smart *** who paid 400.00 for his mouths off I will be ready with a "Can YOUR iPhone do THIS"? :-)
Nobody rhyme. I mean it.

Now if we could get a 33% discount on a new MacBook Pro I wouldn't be so upset.
But that's not going to happen because I didn't buy one of these.-DoocesWild

well fyi you have a free upgrade.

no joke go online to ur account and check... i saw it on my acount, so i call at&t the guy was like panicing thinking there was a glitch....
so he talked to his supervisor and came back and told me it was since we bought it full price we get an upgrade....
now mind you, an at&t employee told me about this when i was waiting for a register on june 29 but i came back a week later and they all just looked at me like i was retarded and had no idea.... so yeah everyone should have an upgrade.... i did... and i used it... but a heads up, they sent a SIM with mine... its was already in the phone, but dont even turn the phone on, just take it out immediately and put ur iphone SIM in it and VWALA!!
yay
btw im pissed at the $200 price cut. apple. i used to like you. now i know ur in it ONLY for the money.... not for the whole "innovation" you speak of....
geez
oh and i bought an 8gig.... so yeahLast edited by applefrk715; 09-05-2007 at 08:42 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

see, i think the point is for "everyone and their grandmother" to have one
brilliant move on the part of apple, and just in time for the holidays
now all they need is a couple awesome updates"The glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall."

Beyond Pissed!!
PO'd does not even begin to describe how I felt when I heard that my $600 iPhone's price had dropped $200 in the blink of an eye. Steve Jobs and co. had to know that this news was not going to be well received by early adopters. The sad part is that this is the same group of consumers that have stood by Apple for many years.
Prices drop, that is inevitable but to fall this far, this fast screams desperation. I was one of those that sat in line on June 29th. Never felt foolish for doing so til now. I've enjoyed my iPhone but if I thought I could make any money on it, I'd put the damn thing on eBay. If I could afford to be without a phone, I'd pack it up in its cute little box, ship it to Cupertino and encourage Steve Jobs to shove it right up his greedy, money grubbing, *****.

first time poster here..
Let me say this.. I bought my phone(4gb) on August 18th..
For me to find out not only did I get screwed out of money, but to also own a now discontinued model 18 days later is not sitting well.
Someone is getting a earful tommorrow. And I can guarentee I am not going down with out a fight.
This is a slap in the face of a long time apple user..

This is a total slap in the face to me and my brother. My brother bought one 16 days ago and now he just got screwed over! He contacted Apple and they said there was nothing they could do. Too bad I don't work there no more, I could've helped people out. There's nothing we can do but:

found out about this on another forum and called customer service to verify. (1800 6947466). I bought my phone july 22. the service rep said that I could get 200 dollars apple credit at the apple store, but it was done at the store level and implied that it was also up to the store. He said that if a regular employee couldnt help me to ask for a manager. I am pretty sure apple will make right for all of us feeling screwed. (although i do feel a bit less screwed since mine has nintendo)

I suppose I can look at the bright side here, at least one of the two phones I bought is eligible for this 'rebate'. Does anyone have info on how to go about getting the rebate/credit? I've looked around elsewhere, but have yet to find anything else about it except for right here on the forum. Any help is appreciated.

What a crock.
Granted I knew they would cut the price and cut it hard but like many others I had no clue it would be this soon. Thus far I have to say I am not too happy with the phone and it's lack of features; I love going to "viewmymessage.com" to retrieve a MMS message.
Overall at the time of purchase I do think it was worth the price but to choke on $200 in such a short time is hard to swallow and thats why it's a choke!
In the end I still have my phone and I will have to bite my lip and learn my lesson. Everyone warned me about Apple's ways. Let's face it, we got punked. Apple is about to make a killing with this prices drop.
Say hello to the new "Razor".Last edited by Kyle Matthews; 09-06-2007 at 02:57 PM. Reason: language
