Not necessarily. Apple apps have the capability of 'killing' other processes that are open and in the background (other Apple apps) if they need the memory for the app in the foreground. This has been discussed here and other forums whether you are JB or not. Don't think 3rd party have that luxury/capability.

regardless, removing all winterboard and system background settings probably still won't make it as smooth scrolling-wise as the original app

I got it to work by using ssh and logging into the phone and setting the permissions on Apps. Bossprefs wouldn't work for some reason.

Can you enter a number when sending a new txt with mysms? just seems to only go to the address book??

Too send to a new number. When it goes to the adress book, use the search to type in the number and hit the use this key.

Yeah I need some help purhssing this app. Been tryng for awhile now but I keep getting the email error. And I'm not gonna upgrade my email for a 5$ app. Any help?? Or maybe I should use irealsms.

If I scroll slow to medium speed (meaning I can read and/or make out letters and words of any given multiple page text), it's fine, or smooth, or 'very very close' IMO. If I scroll very fast (as in screen flicking), it's still fine, maybe ever so slightly choppy, but this can be just because your eyes are trying to focus on a line as it moves, and thus creating an illusion of choppy as your eyes jump. This a non issue as far as I'm concerned. Maybe others have more input.

Since being on version 0.9.5 build 877, I haven't seen any sending delay of over 2-4 seconds. I wonder if those having the long send time problem are on other networks. I'm on AT&T in the US, and on a valid iPhone 3G data and text plan.

I wonder how much Apple may be hiding (or buffering really) as they send an SMS. It would be easy to animate a sms represented as being sent as you press then send button, when in fact, you never know cause it may be happening in the background. It's been discussed before on this and other forums. If iSoft copied this 'feature', rather than report sending status in real time, would anyone notice or care? I also wonder if signal quality at all affects this, as well as roaming?

as far as i can tell, after the progress bar fills up and the msg appears in the conversation window, it's pretty much sent. just test it by sending a text message to someone who's next to you. it's almost instantaneous to when the msg appears in teh conversation thread

but one thing....

i noticed you added the option to STOP message from sending, but it only works when you are in the DRAFTS section... can you also add this "STOP FROM SENDING" option when you are REPLYING to a message and also when you CREATE a NEW message?? thanks so much!!!

I just want to say that I've tried to purchase this program 3 seperate times now... and all 3 times their CC company has issues accepting from paypal, 2 hours of delay, followed by a day or so for a email telling me that I didn't have my transaction processed.

I am at the point where it's getting too frusterating to even buy the app... should iron purchasing bugs out.

I'm on the AT&T 3G network in major metropolitan area (Dallas, TX). I've had the sending delay 2 times (out of ~40-50 texts) since the last update. Not a super texter with 50+ texts/day

Most of the time it's pretty quick, 2-3 seconds. And...IIRC, both were going to TMobile users (2 different numbers), but individual texts at separate times.

Im in the dallas, tx area as well and I sometimes get the delay mentioned. Even with that this program is amazing and has the texting features the iphone should of came with all along.

awesome program and more stable than irealsms! I like how it completly disables the oem app and uses the same icon for it.

word of caution: if you select run mysms in the background your winterboard wont respring after changes. you will have to manual respring via the big boss app.
