No Contract iPhone in Mexico and iPhone on Sale in Russia

Live in Mexico? Want an no contract iPhone? Mundo Mac tells us that the Mexican carrier Tecel is offering no contract 3g iPhones as of October 3rd. The price of the 8GB model is $ 7899 USD (U.S. $ 708), while the 16GB version is sold by MXN $ 9199 (U.S. $ 817). The no contract iPhones only work on Tecel and you can buy service in quantities of 1, 7, 15 or 30 days.



Across the world over in Russia The iPhone went on sale on Friday. The prices in Russia for the iPhone are 23,000 rubles ($900) for the 8 gig and 27,000 rubles ($1000) for the 16 gig.

While long lines don't seem to be a major issue the iPhone seems to be fairly popular and Apple resellers are telling customers to get on a waiting list for the iPhone. One store manager said "We already have more than fifty people on our list, so it is better to leave your number and we will call you when your phone is ready for pick up,” so if you want one you might consider hopping on a waiting list.

Telcel ins not selling unlocked iPhones, they are selling a PAYG version of iPhone but only works with Telcel, also Data plans aren't cheap and not unlimited because after some data they reduce the speed to 128kilobit/s.

Hi Cash, well the price list for Russia is incorrect.
It is actually 32,000 rub($1,280) for 8gb and 64,000 rub($2,560) for 16gb.

Just to let ya know.
I was on a Russian iPhone site(the 1st site that sold em in Russia) and that is their price list.

You might be the only Russian in here, but I also live in Moscow. The dealer where I just bought my BEAUTIFUL new Mac Pro 3.2Ghz, MacZone is selling the iPhone for 23,000RUR for am 8gb and the 16Gb for 27,000.

A far cry better than you have found. At today's exchange that is a mere $883.60 for the 8 and downright inexpensive 1,037.46 for the 16. (mere and inexpensive tongue in cheek of course)
