Adobe Working on Flash -- Still?!

Adobe has once again announced that they are working on Flash for the iPhone. In the past they have gone back and forth between we are doing it and we can't do it etc. so who knows if they are serious or not this time around.
At this years On the Beach conference during the Town Hall meeting sessions Paul Betlem, Sr. Director of Engineering at Adobe Systems, answered a direct question by the audience concerning Flash on the iPhone.
His response was some along the lines of "My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it's a closed platform." Hopefully they are really working on this and plan to go back to Apple for approval of whatever they come up with sometime soon.
True, flash is bloated and can be very annoying, but sometimes it's used in an effective manner. Here's to still waiting . . .

I sure hope it's a Safari plug-in - I'd love to get back into Newgrounds I just don't have the time to sit at my computer all day and watch cartoons (as great as they are).

I cannot even view the Apple ads on my iPhone! I went to the Apple web site to show a friend the old (and new) ads that prompted the Microsoft "I am a PC" ads. But I could not show them to her! Is there something I'm missing - I am on 2.1 firmware?
This is what I see:

It would appear that it wants to view it in quicktime. Ive never tried that, so I wonder....
I got a popup when I hit play on the player, and it stated it was unplayable due to the format. Is there a quicktime plugin for the phone ?

Imagine that, though, from Apple - you cannot play their website content on an iPhone - again, unless there is something I am missing! I have fresh 2.1 install, setup as a new iPhone and then jailbroken...

meh, for me flash would just make webpages load more slowly. I guess for some trying to watch videos/play games/listen to music online it might help, but for each of those things you still have: Youtube app, iPod/thousands of app store games + Cydia games + ZodTTD emulators/iPod, Pandora, Last.fm, etc.
Dunno, personally I haven't found a single time where I was browsing with my iPhone and I found myself saying 'Damn, if only I could get flash on this thing!'Comprehensive iPhone 2.1 FAQ:
