[Tip] StatusNotifier for Email, SMS, and Call Notifcation in the Status Bar

About a year ago the original Taskbar Notifier was released for jailbroken phones. Unfortunately its development stopped at firmware 1.1.4 leaving us with out this neat little mod on firmware 2.x.
No need to fear today zolee released Status Notifier today in our forums. With a simple install from Cydia (it went on on the MMi repo just a bit ago) you can add notifications for mail, SMS, and call notifications back on your status bar.
You can find it in the Utilities section of Cydia under the name "StatusNotifier"
Note: to use make sure you have Erica Utilities and Java Sqlite3 installed as well. They are both available on Cydia.
Thanks zolee for bringing this to 2.x phones!

just wondering.... what does Erica's utilities and Sqlite3 do???
8Gig > 1.0 FW (dead spot on screen)
8Gig > 1.0.2 FW (broken vibrate after a while)
8Gig > 1.1.2>1.1.4>2.0>2.1>2.2(Jonny5 Still alive)

Sqlite3:
Mail, SMS, call history are stored in Sqlite3 db files. StatusNotifier script simply makes queries to these databases to check for unread mail, SMS nad unanswered calls.
Erica Utilities:
sbar tool is used to add and remove icons to/from status bar
StatusNotifier is nothing just a simple shell script to check these databases in every 60 seconds,
and update icons.
BTW:
!!!
I need help to create nicer icons for call, mail, sms, voicemail.
Currently call and voicemail has the same icon. It would be great to have a seperate icon for voicemail. PLus I'm planning to add the Ringer Switch status as well. I'd need an icon for that as well.
I really su.k making PNG icons
Regards,
Zolee

I'm sure there are a lot better designers around here, but I dabble in Photoshop and Illustrator a lot and mess around with my icons a lot, so hit me up.
One thing I like about this that IS doesn't have is a seperate png for voicemail and missed calls. I'd love that feature.
Thanks."Thanks" button. Learn it. Use it. Love it.

Two things:
1 - Sqlite3, I don't have it installed and I don't see it on Cydia.
2 - Not putting this down but how is this any different than the default notifications that appear on the app icons? Why would you want both? Can you disable the default ones?

[QUOTE=oscar25;2334371]Two things:

I didn't see it under "All Packages," but it came up when I "Searched" for it.
"SQLite v3"

I don't have Sqlite3 on Cydia, am I missing a source? If so, which one?
edit: As somebody said before I refreshed, it doesn't show up under All packages but in Search.Last edited by tin77i; 09-30-2008 at 05:08 PM.

I would gladly pay or donate for this to have a 'remind me' feature where it could be configured for interval/snooze (and choosing sounds) options each for sms, mail, missed calls, and voicemail.
Configuration options don't matter to me if it's a 'pretty app' interface, or a file I have to edit. I'll even beta test it.
Great to see it back for 2.x.

So where would i go about replacing these icons? I have a couple icons that id like to replace already. Anybody know where i would locate the files?
**EDIT**Nevermind, i figured out where my replacement icons go.Last edited by ekidd; 09-30-2008 at 05:35 PM.
