holy crap, this is definately awsome but none of the games actually work. and it runs so slow! the sound drives me nuts so i just leave it off. Is there a way to stop all services on the phone and try running it again and hopefully itll run smoother?

I cant get any games to work either... I even dropped outrun.zip in the roms folder (per the screenshots) and it wont run either. All I get is several files extracting, then...
''ERROR: required files are missing. the game cannot be run''

hey guys
Ok, I tried to get this running this morning on my 2.02 2G iphone. I installed MAME from cydia and then found some roms online. I ssh'd to my phone and browsed to the directory: var/mobile/media/MAMA/ROMs and then made a new folder (roms) inside the ROMs folder. I put about 5 or 6 .zip roms in that folder. I wasn't sure about the whole different bios' for different systems, but I grabbed a couple of bios files and put them in the roms folder as well. I rebooted and ran MAME from my springboard. it opens and I see the directory at the top of the page and the loopt ad and then blank white lines under that. nothing listed at all.
I then tried some different things via ssh. I put the bios files into the main MAME folder instead of the roms folder I made. I tried making new folders for the .zip games in the roms folder.. etc..
Anyway, nothing changes when I open the mame program. any help?
thanks in advance

I just tried Commando and I have a black screeen that says:
"Usage of emulators in conjuction with ROMs bla bla bla bla, other wise type OK to continue"
How do I type OK to continue? The only button that responds on the screen is Menu. Now what?
EDIT:
I missed that part of the acticle
>>>>>>> To press OK. Use RIGHT then LEFT then RIGHT then LEFT to press OK. <<<<<<<<<<
I agree, most people will be asking the same question, you might as well just create an OK button or at least put the instructions in the MAME app somewhere.Last edited by JazJon; 09-29-2008 at 02:23 PM.

ZodTTD, maybe you should just add an OK button for all the bucket-heads in here that CAN'T READ!!!
BTW, I cant get any games to run, I have DL'd ROM's from about 7 different sources. All filenames are correct, all are in your list... none will run except for 1 Jap version of Galaga, that looks NOTHING like the Galaga arcade game... and its so laggy that its not even playable.
I would love to use this AND would happily donate... but I give up, uninstalled.

there isn't another roms folder other thenthe one listed. so do I just put the .zip files into the MAME folder?

typically zodttd emulator. everytime he needs donations he releases a half working emulator and did not post any instructions or guides about "how to get it work".
so people cant differ between ******* emulator bugs or selfmade errors. most of the time its an emulator bug.Last edited by bensen; 09-29-2008 at 05:47 PM.

I was able to download 4 roms to try. I couldnt get alterbeast to work at all. What did work was 1943 and Air Wolf. I downloaded Aero Fighters, but the frame rate was slow.
I didnt have to create any folders, as they were where there already. Just put the zip file in "roms" and hope they worked. Some did, some didnt.
