Introducing Windows Quickpwn 2.1, Here's the dirt:

The dev team has released the 2.1 compatible GUI version of Windows QuickPwn.

Supports 2.1 firmware with the unlocking and jailbreaking of iPhone 1st generation (2G) device. Supports the jailbreaking of iPod Touch 1st generation device and iPhone 3G. Does not support the unlocking of iPhone 3G or jailbreaking of second generation (n72ap based) iPod Touch.

question: i winpwn my Iphone 3G to fw 2.02 back when it was first released

doesn't updating using apple's official 2.1 firmware and then quickpwning it affect the baseband for future unlocking?

just wanted to make sure cause if so, i'll wait for winpwn 3.0

2.1 does update the baseband for the 3g iPhone. If you want to unlock your 3g iPhone it is probably better to wait for winpwn.

What effects the baseband is updating the firmware (if there is a baseband update included), has nothing to do with winpwn, quickpwn, or pwnage.

right but does 2.1 include a baseband update in it?

i realize pwning doesn't affect the baseband but with winpwn, i can use a custom ipsw whereas with quickpwn, i have to update using apple's official 2.1 fw (which may or may not affect my baseband)

Yes, they are telling all who want to eventually "unlock" their 3g to hold off on firmware updates.

Do we need to have a custom 2.1 firmware file in a folder with quickpwn to do this because it was needed with the other versions of quickpwn.

just quickpwnd... everything went good, I originally 'updated' from 2.0.2 to 2.1 and did a backup, after quickpwn I just restored from backup and everything is back to normal (settings, sms, mail, bookmarks, and contacts). Just one question when unlocking, quickpwn runs bootneuter automatically and i wanted to know if it downgraded the bootloader to 3.9bl if so can i upgrade to 4.6bl?

Awesome! I am going to try and pwn my Iphone 3G right now. But before i do, i have a few questions.... i know some of you might not like noob questions, but if you could answer them, i would really appreciate it!

I am currently using an Iphone 3G 8gb, and it is jailbroken with 2.02, locked to Fido.
Do i need to back anything up? like themes, and firmware?
Are the steps to quickpwning my iphone as follows?:
- update to iTunes 8
- update firmware to offical 2.1 via iTunes 8
- run quickpwn, and follow the instructions

Also, where do i get the firmware that i need to put into quick pwn for my 3G?

updated to 2.1 and quickpwned but all went well but cant connect to wifi
it keeps searching and cant find my router
please help any suggestions?
