You can recover your apps and themes from your 'stash'. See SMEEs tutorial on page 29 (just the part about copying the files from /var/stash)

tellytel: Just update to iTunes 8, update your iPhone to the new 2.1 software (not JB), grab the custom FW from me or some of the others that have posted CFW and do the routine shift+restore in iTunes (don't worry about DFU or restore if you're already JB, it's not necessary). If all goes well you will have yourself a working JB with 2.1. If all doesn't go well, you may end up with Error 6, error 1600, or a few of the other things I'm sure you've already read about. If that is the case you just restore to factory settings and wait a few days for the dev team, or you can try to go back to 2.0.x

I actually have a new problem which is a bit disconcerting. All of my music has become 'other'. In other words, instead of a big green bar in iTunes, I now have a big orange bar. Also the iPod doesn't see any of my music now (despite it all still being on the iPhone) and under Music in iTunes (under my device) there is more of the same. Anybody have an idea of whats up? It was working for a while, I'm not sure what happened exactly o_0

Just keep in mind for the newbies out there that you have to rename the .zip file from your site Index of /MMi to a .ipsw file for it to work. Thanks for posting the files for us windows guys.

yes as I continue to have to say again on every page, if your browser adds .zip to the end of the files (they aren't actually zip files) just remove it, do NOT attempt to unzip the files, it will just give you a headache.

If i am on 1.14 and want to upgrade to 2.02 then 2.1 how do i do that if i already downloaded the update of 2.1 but have not installed it? Windows XP. I am sure it has been covered but maybe not since most of you have already updated to 2.02 and i just did not have the time to do it yet and i want to be able to put on the applications ect. My phone is currently jailbroken using iliberty

I go to your site pick the firmware and after updateing then i do a shift and hit restore and browse for your firmware and install it. Correct? And that will take me from 1.14 jb with iliberty to 2.1 successfully?

I would update your iPhone to the 2.1 software first, then load the CFW

Anyone having the following problem: All my Apps are in the Applications folder, the one with 6 digits at the end but the springboard will only show some of the Apps icon's. All the apps I got from Cydia were working with icons showing and then I restored from backup and now only a select few showup while none of the AppStore icons are showing at all.

Any clue how to fix this? I've spent all Sunday on this.

This happened to me last night. I had updated and everything was running great. I was cruising around installer and my phone crashed. after about five minutes of black screen (little spinning icon thing), i thought i would have to restore completely. For fun, i plugged it into itunes and got a similar screen to what you provided in your screen shot. I power cycled the device and re-synced and the phone returned to what was expected. It hasnt happened since, so i kind of wrote it off as a freak occurrence.

will someone please help me out? how is it that all of you are able to select the CFW but i'm not? I replaced the original restore image backed up by itunes and replaced it with the cfw and renamed it, but i get error 6. however I am able to restore using the original image. After the restore process, Its not activated but its unlocked, I can see my carrier's name on top.

Please guys help me out, I've posted this a couple of times and everyone seems to ignore it

Hm, I suppose you were lucky. Mine was persistent, and I tried to fix it, but ended up making it worse, so I just restored fresh again and quickpwn'd. I'm about back to my previous state now, but have yet to put the music back

did you have categories installed previousy installed, i had the same proble. Just reinstalled categories and was able to add them in there and delete them again, that made them show up in the springboard again.

VBP2004EP3: prolly a winpwn thing, but pwnage rejects both images. You can just use default boot logos for now until winpwn comes out if you want.

cmurderr: I've never used mivtones, I would direct your question to the developers of the program itself. They will probably update it soon for compatibility with 2.1. Have you reinstalled it?

restoring this time had a few more bugs.....bootloader issues with pwnage being in the applications folder, itunes error and then the spinning pineapple wheel when Iwent to restore....somewhat finally got it workin....3 hrs of fun!
