Ok. Created custom firmware, tried to restore phone in dfu but got error 6, so I just opt + restored, loaded 2.1 on my 3g perfectly. Then I did restore from backup and used the aptbackup in cydia to restore my jailbreak apps. Phone is just like it was before the update only much more responsive and without music (I'll sync later). Only thing is none of my jb apps show up in the apps page but in cydia they show as being installed. How do I get them to reappear on the apps pages?

SSH into the phone, you still can even though it hasnt booted and replace the MobileInstallation with this one. Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

Sorry bud, mine also worked till I rebooted but this fixed it and now I have everything back!! WOOHOO

might have to install cache dele from cydia and delete the cache

Do i have to change the original MobileInstallation to MobileInstallation.bak ?

Just updated with Grip's 2.1 Custom non-AT&T 2g firmware (which can be found at Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!) and it worked perfectly..........

For all of you looking for a 2.1 Custom non-AT&T 2g firmware then use this one.

tryed the custom firmware in itunes i get error 6 in recovory mode and error 1600 in dfu mode

you can but you will lose your jailbreak. however if you have a mac you can jailbreak it again.

The only thing that came up was, I wasn't able to custom Cydia in expert mode.
I tried adding apps, but it said failed. Other than that I'm good. Just had to do it by searching Cydia on the phone and adding them that way.

windows user here, i donloaded the 2.1 custom image, do i do a restore in itunes 7.7 or do i upgrade to 2.1 1st then restore, 3g winpwn'd 2.02 already

hey guys I'm having a problem. When I click Shift + Restore in itunes 8, it goes directly to "Extracting Software" I take it itunes has the restore image cache somewhere, any idea where it might be?

will someone please help me out? how is it that all of you are able to select the CFW but i'm not? I replaced the original restore image backed up by itunes and replaced it with the cfw and renamed it, but i get error 6. however I am able to restore using the original image. After the restore process, Its not activated but its unlocked, I can see my carrier's name on top.

Please guys help me out, I've posted this a couple of times and everyone seems to ignore it

I have a mac, from my understanding when the 2.0.2 firmware came out along with PwnageTool 2.0.3... its wasn't working after unlocking my iPhone at least 8 times. I restored it to the 2.0.1 firmware using Pwnagetool 2.0.2 then i noticed the next day a new PwnageTool was uploaded with new written next to it --> PwnageTool(new)<---like that ...so the problem was Pwnagetool 2.0.3 was buggy when it first came out... Now 2.1 firmware is out and along with a new PwnageTool 2.1 ... the problem i'm dealing with is the PwnageTool for 2.1 firmware isn't reading my Bootloaders BL32bin & BL46bin both 132 kbs.. I tried many different download sites for both Pwnagetool 2.1 and Bootloaders BL32.bin BL46.bin.. and its still not working... I was reading the comment of another person who encountered the same problem but with an older Pwnagetool and firmware... they'd said that the bin file was too large that's why Pwnagetool rejected it.. then said it needed to be 128kbs in size to function.. I cannot find a bootloader that size.. so I'm guessing the Pwnagetool 2.1 is buggy for the firmware 2.1.. the next question is how many people are having this same problem has me??? help me out Dev Team or anyone please.

I ned help i restored my previously jailbroken 2g iphone through itunes and went use quickpwn again but when it gets to the end and says "ihaz" my screen just stays white and when i restart i just have a regular 2.1 iphone
