I had 2.0.1 pwned and I did a restore to 2.1 and like people say it's unlocked but can't activate. Is there a quick way to activate? I don't care about 3rd party apps. Just want to use my carrier with 2.1 right now.

text notice
I noticed there is a sound effects option in one of the pictures on another website. I dont have that.
Also i have no idea where to change the number of alerts for a text message as said in the update features.
I did noticed that now when text privacy is on it just says new text message instead of new text message with the name of who sent it.
the new icons are lame. There is still a slight lag when pressing a name in contacts and it doesn't highlight it blue.
The initial backup when installing took ages and so did verify software
WHERE IS THE TEXT NOTIFICATION OPTION!?!?

Can anyone post their custom 2.1 firmware for 2G first gen phone, like we had for 2.0.2?
Thanks in advance

I am sure lots of people are going to be happy if the fixes work. I haven't had any of these issues except slow texting if I have ssh enabled in bossprefs. When I disable it my texting is back to normal.
It is strange how the same phone can act different ways for different people.

2G Remains Unlocked
Updated an unlocked, activated and jailbroken (with pwnage) original iPhone with Firmware 2.0.2 and it remained unlocked and activated, but with no jailbreak. I lost cydia and installer 2.0 and related apps. Everything else was fine. Was worth it for the speed of contacts and Genius playlists.

Pwn'ed iPhone 2.0.2 "udpated" to 2.1 without problem. Remind unlocked and activated. DO NOT DO RESTORE THO.

Apple just calibrated the way Service Bar is display , sure you get full bar but the reception is still the same. Dial *3001#12345#* and press call . The lower the number the better reception. I'm still getting between -89 to -91 in my house as before.

Is it just me, or is the yellow screen tinge gone in 2.1? My screen (especially when viewing mostly white lists) seems a lot cooler in tone than before the update.
Anyone else seeing this?

cant wait!
I can't stand the glitches either but can't go without cydia, winterboard, blah blah.

Lately if you wait a week or so you can update and jump 3 firmware versions!!
