I updated my 3g phone and so far I've noticed a new 3g icon and dramatically increased signal strength. Before I got 1-2 bars on avg, and 3 MAYBE on a good day at home. Now I get 5 FULL bars. Worth the upgrade for those who always had poor reception.

Interesting Find (i think)
So i just upgraded my Jailbroken Iphone 3G that was on 2.0.2 and everything went well. just to point out though, i did a restore rather than a normal update just because i am always paranoid about having settings from a old firmware being backed up to a new firmware, but anyways....
the update went through no problems, i synced my phone with exchange to get my email, calendar and contacts on the phone all is well...
i did notice that the contacts load up significantly faster (at least so far). there is still a slight delay between when you launch the address book and when you can start scrolling, but it is ALOT less of a delay than before.
i did notice one thing that i find interesting... before, on my 2.0.2 when ever i would launch an application that would need GPS (MAPS) and i had locationServices turned off, it would display the message that says you need to turn location services on, then i would click ok, and it would automatically turn location services on for me...
now it does not, i have to click the settings button and go and turn it on, then return to the maps application, i wonder if that is one of the ways that apple is planning on improving battery life for "most users" by not turning it on automatically the user might remember to turn it off later?
just a thought... to point out tho, i have not tried it with a 3rd party app to see if it does turn it on automatically, i just know it used to do that for me with the maps app...

Hey
I have jailbroken, unlocked iphone 1.1.4 in canada. But i bought this phone in USA. Thats why i unlocked it and using it with Rogers. Can someone tell me if i upgrade my phne to 2.1.0 i will still be able to use service with rogers?
I know that rogers offers iphone but if you bought it from USA, your sim card would not work with Rogers iphone.
Thanks

I'm gonna hold off until the Dev team announces it's ok to Quickpwn. Not that having a jailbroken phone is THAT important these days but I know for sure I will miss having cydia.. Not to mention now I can't be w/out keyvib LOL

Are most of you doing just the upgrade or a full restore?
