Firmware 2.1 Announced - To be Released this Friday

Couple more days to find out just how much they fixed (or broke) the firmware.

I think I'll resisit the temptation to upgrade friday.

1) I'd rather wait to know jailbreak is good to go for 2.1

2) I'm leaving for a trip (never upgrade the day before a trip!)

Also did they change anything in the file system from 2.0.2 to 2.1 so that maybe jail broken apps don't work again until they are ported over. Just a though but I look forward to having some of these issues fixed finally.

Awww man my internet is down for the next 2 weeks
Currently I'm connected by tethering my N95 8GB to PC, which is surprisingly ok. Btw did you know that you can't restore or update your iPhone unless you have an internet conenction, I tried before to shift restore my iPhone before w/o internet connection and the "iPod server could not be connected" or something error kept coming, you see my iPhone is/was stuck on Apple logo (App Store caused the problem), I'm in recovery mode btw.

Don't really know that, though. The fact that it doesn't have cut/paste is a joke and Steve Jobs knows better than to announce that they finally have something that should've been included already. I'm not saying it's in there, but sounds like it's a "maybe".

Guys, there will never be MMS when the phone does e-mail. It's part of Apple's "view" and MMS isn't in it.

The sooner you accept this the easier it will be :P (Besides, isn't SwirlyMMS coming out soon?)

Though it is for some, there are far more cell phone users of MMS then there are with Email.

The sad thing is unless your Jailbroken then you probably not going to see Copy & Paste, MMS, Stereo Bluetooth, Push, and so on on Official firmware releases. Jobs doesn't want it so you won't get it.
