Took my WinPwnd 2.0.1 phone and created a custom IPSW file with WinPwn 2.5 with 2.0.20 sw with an 800 mb root partition and used WinPwn 2.5 to make a successful happy unlocked 3G 16gb white iphone. The dev teams are great!!! THANKS!!!

I made the custom IPSW file but after that when i use itunes to write it on iphone i get an error. With WinPwn 2.5 after it detects the phone is in DFU mode nothing happens... please help me.

Finally able to WinPwn it but now when i click mail, the screen goes white and then the main screen comes back. I have already setup the gmail account. Any advise

Works great! Upgraded to 2.0.2 and works just perfectly =).
For those who have not done yet, you will have to use expert mode since the program will unexpectedly crash. I have 2gb root, instead of the 700MB.

Download/install BossPrefs from Cydia
open BP and go to the "more" tab in top right
click "fix user dir permissions"
done.

I loved the program, it has a great new look and love the wizard interface. The only negative thing was that when i quickpwnd 2.0.2, it made duplicate folders of everything in my stash. I thought i deleted all of the old folders but was wrong cause soon i lost my ssh connection and then i knew that i f'kd my iphone. I rebooted to make sure it was f'kd and i couldn't reboot so... I put it and dfu mode and restored it with a custom ipsw. Everything is fine now.

* My signal seems better on 2.0.2 now. I used to have 1 bar constantly (in home). But now i have 2 (in home). lol. A whole one bar improvement. Have yet to try it outside though

Yes! Each type of iPhone has different firmwares, currently there are two types, 2G and 3G. Any custom 2GFW will work on any 2G iPhone and so on for 3G

Thank the lord! My phone is running WAY smoother now. No text/keyboard lag, no temporary freezes, switching between screens/apps is much faster now, and my signal strength here in the den has increased by 2 bars! Well, ok, it's only been 10 minutes, but I have seen a dramatic difference already.

For those curious, It's a 3G phone with FIDO, was running jailbroken 2.0.1 prior. Whole process was easy and quick (about 12 minutes).

No default boot logos option for quickpwn in winpwn 2.5.
So, I used poorlads second release off quickpwngui, does that mean my iPhone's been pwned and "will allow custom firmware and other cool tweaks"?
