Yes! I am 100% sure about this since I've got a fully functional, soft-unlocked 1.1.2 OTB lying in front of me. Here is a short and simple tutorial:

1. Open Instller on your jailbroken 1.1.2 OTB and install OpenSSH and Term-vt100 (under System)
2. Connect via WiFi to your iPhone using WinSCP
3. Copy all the files (gunlock, ICE04.02.13_G.fls and secpac) to /usr/bin
4. Set permissions of gunlock to 755 in WinSCP
5. Put iPhone in Airplane mode (IMPORTANT!)
6. Execute the following commands in Terminal:

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls

launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

7. Restart iPhone and throw your ***sim out of the window

Although I have a few questions.

Does this unlock fix all the problems people have been having with their upgrades to 1.1.3? Or does it just solve the whole unlocking situation.

Also, why would I want to software unlock my phone if I have a fully working sim-card unlock?

Here is the translation of Sendowski site that has the file on installer.

Here are my notes on the Sendowski Method.

It takes me about 10 mins to unlock a 1.1.2 OTB with it and it works perfectly well on all SIM's I have tried here in Australia.

Hardest part is actually typing accurately in VT with no back key (please share if there is a secret to getting a backspace/delete?):

Requirements:

- Jailbroken iPhone 1.1.2 / 1.1.3 OTB
- WLAN Internet connection
- Installer (AppTapp)

Guide:

1. Set Autolock to NEVER

2. Installer - “System” - “BSD Subsystem”

3. Installer - Source - “Edit” - “Add” - “Add Source” - "http://www.sendowski.de/iphone” - “ok”

4. Installer - Install - “sendowski.de Unlock” - “Gunlock - Files only”

5. Installer - Install - “System” - “Term-vt100″

6. **IMPORTANT** Set Airplane mode ON!

7. Start Term-VT

TYPE:

cd /usr/bin

/bin/launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.* apple.CommCenter.plist

./gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls

/bin/launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.* apple.CommCenter.plist

8. All Finished

Couple of Notes:

1. After typing the first unload command above, VT gives no feedback and no longer gives any sound feedback as you type...This is perfectly fine

2. After doing the ./gunlock step, you will get a message saying "Enjoy your Unlocked Phone" but remember, you still must load the CommCenter again.

3. After typing each command in VT, just hit Return. The first 2 and the last command give no feedback at all (ie, it just gives the cursor prompt) and that's ok.

3. DONT FORGET AIRPLANE MODE!

The Geohot unlock only unlocks the SIM you still need to hactivate / jailbreak you can stick with 1.1.2 or use the dev teams soft upgrade to 1.1.3

Dont upgrade to 1.1.3 with iTunes or you will be locked out of your phone & the phone will ask to activate.

I have a OTB 1.1.1 on o2 iPhone contract, updated via iTunes to 1.1.3. If I use this unlock will I be able to use 1.1.2 firmware with phone capabilities? Or will I still need to get back to 1.1.3?

I´ve read this forum, and marcelse tried it up on two 1.1.3 OTB and he wasn´t able to unlock it.

It does not allow us to upgrade from a 1.1.2OTB with itunes 1.1.3 stock so that we have current modem firmware?

I currently have a 1.1.2OTB with the official dev team 1.1.3 jailbreak. I am still on the old firmware. I use a stealth sim with my sim card for phone service. I assume that this will just allow us to use the phone without sim support such as stealth.

I want to upgrade my modem firmware, one of the posts above said not to do it yet. So stay with the soft update. So my last question is do I need to downgrade back to 1.1.2 jailbreak, or can I do this from the soft update 1.1.3??

Use a better method, all you need is your beloved 1.1.2 OTB or 1.1.3 OTB or any 1.1.2 and any 1.1.3 as well as a good WiFi connection to Install Geohots Gunlock Script. No need to connect to PC or Mac. From Installer, go to Sources, Edit, Add http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo and refresh. Go to Install, choose Recent category, find Geohots Gunlock Script. Install BSD Subsystems and Terminal VT100.

Go to Settings, set Airplane mode.

Go to Terminal VT100 if you already in 1.1.2 or 1.1.3.

Type the following (only 2 lines, each end with return or enter)

cd /usr/bin
geounlock

Wait for about 2 minutes, enjoy your 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 unlock.

In case you are in doubt, read More Info before you install Geohots Gunlock Script.

Mine is iPhone 8GB from week 51, running 1.1.2 OTB, jailbroken and using x-SIM in tandem with Xplor SIM card from Indonesia, need only 2 minutes to run Geohots Gunlock Script. Now no more x-SIM to be used. Thanks George and BigBoss that put the script in the repository.

Use the official 1.1.3 upgrade (Dev team method).
Once you have your jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone, go to installer, add the source listed above, and begin the new unlocking process.

The first thing you want to do, is forget about this whole "Unlock" business, and get started on the downgrade/jailbreak process for the OTB 1.1.3.

Do some searching for 1.1.3 OTB jailbreak.
You will find everything you need to downgrade your 1.1.3 firmware, jailbreak it, prep it to be upgraded back to 1.1.2 jailbroken.

Once you are jailbroken on 1.1.2 firmware, upgrade to the 1.1.3 firmware jailbroken using the 'Official Dev Team" 1.1.3 jailbreak/

Then you will be ready to try this new soft unlock method

The way I understand this new unlocking method, you're probably better off getting yourself to 1.1.3 jailbroken before attempting this unlock method if you intend to upgrade to 1.1.3.

You dont need to downgrade. it works using 1.1.2 or 1.1.3

If he is still using a locked non-jailbroken phone, he DOES need to downgrade so that he may jailbreak the phone, then access installer.app to try the new unlock method

alright guys here's an update...i had 1.1.2 OTB 4.6...had upgraded to 1.1.3-3 dev soft update...came to work this morning and found out that finally 4.6 ppl could unlock...now came the interesting part...i did't wanna wait until i went home to try this so i just dl the script and just executed in VT (keep in mind i dont have wifi at work and i am on 1.1.3 DEV soft update) waited two mins and it was all done...so ppl who don't wanna downgrade to 1.1.2 and stuff u can use geo's method directly from softupdate 1.1.3 and it works...great job man...i am using tmobile sim card without ***sim...Feels great one thing i have noticed is right off the back ur signal strength is amazin...u might have to input ur edge settings again...i had too...( i have full internet $19.99 just if you are wondering)...if you guys have any questions let me know...great to be a part of mmi..
