Hotmail doesn't support POP? Gmail does and setting it up on the iPhone is as easy as enabling POP in your Gmail account and adding it to the iPhone! None of this other stuff!
I do not use hotmail, but are you sure there are NO settings on your hotmail account to enable POP?

although I don't use hotmail, I do know how to make a script/command line run at every boot!
it's called "LaunchDaemons"s. all it takes is a simple script and a file in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons or /Library/LaunchDaemons... look at Saurik's cydia file as an example!
and for augusto:
ssh has 2 versions, iPhone uses version 2. you need to use version 2.
probably an option in your ssh program (putty?) or the command used to start it off.
ssh -2 .....Last edited by jakecigar; 08-23-2008 at 05:12 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Mine keeps telling me that my username or password is incorrect for smtp.live.com. I have checked it like 50 times and I KNOW it's right. Anybody have this issue AND a fix? Thanks in advance

OK i got it to work. If you guys use ssh localhost -L root it will not work you will keep getting error messages. I used ssh localhost -2 root and everything works. I got error messages that do not show up on the screen shots but I did it anyways.

Doesn't work for me. Looks like you need the paid-for hotmail account not the free.
