Dock: Now for 2.0!
Dock, one of my favorite application launching programs on the iPhone, has been ported to the 2.0 firmware by Nate Tru. One of the best things about Dock is that is it available in any application. By simply swiping your finger along the bottom of your screen will activate Dock. But now, it's back with an entirely new look.

Now when you open Dock, you will get 5 different categories: Media, Phone, Uncategorized, Utilities, and Work. Most applications by default are in Uncategorized, but default applications are categorized. You can move around applications in the "Dock Prefs" application.

One new feature I do love, is the ability to call any of my contacts with the "Speed Dial" switch turned on in Dock Prefs. Speed Dial will show up next to Uncategorized and you can call any of your contacts.

Overall, really great update, and a welcome addition to my iPhone."Now everyone calm the hell down and let me think about how to clean up your mess, while you build me a monument dedicated to how awesome I am."

I personally like the previous version of dock. I'm not really feeling the categories or the sluggishness....

like the previous version.... It looks cool, but I'm not sure if it's really useful.

Yeah and I can't get the speed dial to work. I rebooted my phone after install and then went into the prefs and it was already turned on, but I can't see it activated.

I didn't care for it. I was playing 300 bowl and i kept hitting the dock at the bottom and opening other apps.

fatal error
With the dock app, teamed with poof app, i hid all my apps (all of them) and thought using dock app id be able to use all my apps while sleekly hiding the apps. But doing so has produced my normal screen (after slide unlock screen) and the dock works but the apps are missing just documents with names on them. these documents dont open can someone please help me? or do i have to restore ?

I'd much rather have Categories updated for 2.0 than this. It's slick looking, but really, what's the point of including a "Phone" icon on this when the normal Phone icon is right there in the dock already? I would think it would take longer to find an app in this than it would be to just swipe to its page and open it. The only option I see that I like is the speed dial, but there's a better app out there in Cydia for that.
Anybody know if the people responsible for Categories have any plans of porting to 2.x soon?

Big Boss is the maker of categories and he has said numerous times he is working on porting it to 2.0.

Thanks to Nate Tru for all your work! This was a great app back on 1.1.1(2,3,4) and a very nice evolution of the program with a clean UI and updates. And to ALL that are saying that this is a slow or "sluggish" app... try running running 50+ apps on the on the old ver. 1 of dock and get back to me! Bet you wont think this version is so slow any more.

I wonder if its possible for someone to create a dock style app for switching between open apps like in the aero theme in windows vista? I dont like the fact that if you are on an application that sends you to a web page that you have to push the home button and re-open the application that you were on before so this kind of aero theme would be nice. What does everyone else think.

not good after installing this I was unable to add my email. I go to setting then add email account, pick which service u have brings up the account info screen tap to input my info and it switch to another service provider tab again or tab anywhere on the screen and it switches again keeps doing that until I uninstall dock and reboot and everything goes back to normal. Oh well. Forgot to add I'm on 2.0.2 jailbrake..... Don't think this app ready for 2.0.2.
