Thread: Dock: Now for 2.0!

  1. #41
i like it, the only thing i dont like is that when i use poof to hide icons, they are gone from dock as well. This kind of defeats the purpose for me.

this doesen't really work for me... i installed it, and when i try to hide all my apps, the ones in the dock folders were gone too! good thing i had bossprefs with the double tap home button feature, or elese i had to restore. thanks bigboss!

This is a very cool app, but as already referred here, personally I prefer Categories so I'm eagerly waiting for its port to 2.0 to be finished ...
I think Categories is not as cool or visually appealing but it's much more functional and effective in what it does.

i like the app but like everyone else, once you hide some apps, you will not be able to see them when using dock... would be great if that was fixed... almost had to restore but just got a copy of applow from my wife's phone onto mine and loaded up poof again, lol... that was close!

thats cool but I'm kinda lost I can't use it

  6. #46
I would install this if poof could hide appstore apps, then I would just hide all my apps and use dock to get to them

Yep, just found that out....so if anybody hides all there apps including POOF. then your screwed unless you have appflow. if you dont then go to ericasadun.com and ssh appflow to your phone to recover your apps.

Best thing to do is remove this dock program....it's screwed up alot of lil things including my email's. it erased all my email accounts and when i try to add them back i cant. this is killing me, if i have to restore one more time i'm throwing it out the window on the highway.

it is slow as hell!!!! lag app lag app lag app, it sucks

  10. #50
    I cannot find it...?

dock works really well, better than the original but itd be better if you could hide the icons you categorize with poof so you only have one window full of apps...the rest being categorized & hidden
i tried it earlier & they disappeared from dock as i poofed em ;-) (sounds ominous i know)
seen a few crazies up there have messed up without thinking & blamin the developer hehehe...
as if this app has messed their ipod up....it was hiding all their icons then hiding poof what messed you up m8, as for your mail accounts disappearing...............this app doesnt move files, just caches whats on desktop. and poof wasnt ;-)
id say the other fella was gettin lag cos all his apps are installed thru itunes....a lil tip for you noobs
    1. install the app thru itunes
    2. check settings for signs it needs a login or config file
    3. if no then uninstall & ssh the .app folder rather than have itunes sync it
    4. if yes...leave it there & suffer it bein a system installed file and gettin lag from one moment to the next (or not at all depending on what apps accesssing it)

ANNNNYWAY, back to this cool app....try it out & appreciate....and dont poof your poofer ;-)

Nate just announced he has updated the app to 3.1 should be up on cydia in a few hours or so.

    Changes:
    - "Sunburst" modes have configurable flat menus on the left and right
    - Sees apps hidden by Poof
    - (Hidden) category isn't shown in Dock
    - Performance enhancements with large categories
    - Refuses to work on top of Settings (interfered with Wifi password entry otherwise)

If you're impatient, paste this into a root SSH terminal on your iPhone to install:
apt-get install wget; cd /tmp; wget http://devices.natetrue.com/Dock-3.1.tgz; cd /; tar -xvzf /tmp/Dock-3.1.tgz; killall SpringBoard

does this even work with 2.0.2?
*the only replacement for displacement is boost!*

*if its not boosted its not worth having*

  19. #58
Okay, uninstalled it, now I'm stuck with a ******* yellow line at the bottom of my screen.

That has to be the shittiest app I've ever seen.

after i installed it, i noticed that when typing a msg, the space bar is less responsive, possibly bcs this app is trying to read the upward slide (to bring up the dock)...
not sure if it would be better to do a different kind of gesture to activate it?

just an input for nate tru...

    great work though...!
