you can even update to 2.0.2 if you wanted to to get whatever bug fixes that are in that firmware and do the quickpwn using the 2.0.1. The device will still be on 2.0.2 afterwards.

Open up the quickpwn folder.

Right click on the version of iphone or ipod you want to jailbreak and click EDIT.

The file will open up in notepad!

If you look down you will see a line that says: (below using iPod as example but with iPhone it is exactly the same!)

quickpwn "iPod1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw" n45ap -b logo.png -r recovery.png Cydia.tar.gz

Just add Installer.tar.gz after the Cydia.tar.gz. include a space.

So it will look like this:

quickpwn "iPod1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw" n45ap -b logo.png -r recovery.png Cydia.tar.gz Installer.tar.gz

Finally, download a copy of Quickpwn GUI. Use Uniextract.exe (google it!) to open up the file and copy the Installer.tar.gz file to the Quickpwn folder.

I really have no idea why you'd want to do that, but it works.

Peace.
Quick question, in this line, if I delete the logo files, will I stay on original logos or not?

If you delete the logo and recover .png it will use the default which is the apple logo for booting and the cable for recovery.

It seems I'm not the only one to have this problem. I did the same thing the djck did and stuck with no service
Means your phone didn't get unlocked. I would strongly suggest using winpwn (not QP) and do a full restore (DFU mode) using a custom 2.0.1 firmware built with winpwn. You need to undo the damage to your baseband caused by ziPhone.

Trust me... there is absolutely nothing on Installer. I've removed it from my phone because it takes up space. Stay with Cydia, it'll cause you less grief. It's not the same as the pre-app store days. Installer is buggy and crashes too often. There are only around 10 apps on it (at most).

Yes, if you remove the "-b logo.png -r recovery.png" portion of the .bat file.

To tell you the truth, that is exactly why I tried to figure that out. I wanted the Installer.tar.gz to load without having to SSH into my iPhone, AND I wanted some logos that I had made. Was having a lot of trouble with it, until I figured out the whole PNG-24/transparency thing. Which I did by reading both here and at macrumors.

Good luck!

Thank you!
That was actually the only thing I didn't like about this procedure to go on 2.0.2; the ugly logos!

I'm the only one with an iTouch?

I used QuickPwn GUI. Got to the Pineapple screen. Then iTunes picked it up and started to restore it. Now I'm on the apple screen while my iTunes is preparing to restore my iPod. Did I do something wrong?

So if I've already updated to 2.0.2 and haven't jailbroken at all yet, can I just download the 2.0.1 IPSW and downgrade via quickpwn?

I'm perfectly fine with the custom firmware way.
I actually like being able to use your own boot logo.
Also the partition resizing is nice not really needed though.
I like having a nice clean fresh start with the restore.
Also I think it's very simple.

I've used QuickPWN and it works.

But I don't think it has custom boot logo's right?
