you don't suppose to click on the EXE FILE, read first
    1) Drop an unmodified 2.0.1 IPSW downloaded directly from Apple into the same
    folder as the quickpwn.exe binary.

    2) Close all other applications, including of course iTunes and iTunes Helper

    3) Double-click:
iPhone 3G.bat if you have an iPhone 3G
iPhone 2G.bat if you have a first-generation iPhone
iPod touch.bat if you have an iPod touch.

    3) Follow the on-screen instructions

I've upgraded to 2.0.2 and see no difference with reception, if not a little worse.

Nice discovery! Not sure if I'm brave enough to try it yet. Any drawbacks since it's not officially endorsed method by DevTeam?

I was quickpwned on the 2.0.1 fw and I decided to upgrade to 2.0.2 and see what happens. Well it upgraded fine, deleted cydia and restored my backup from iTunes. Now it seems I will need to quickpwn again when it supports 2.0.2.

Did you drop the 2.0.2 fw in the same folder as the quickpwn.exe binary?

nope. Upgrade to 2.0.2 with iTunes. Then download 2.0.1 restore file from d/l section here. Copy the 2.0.1 file to the quickpwn directory

Does anyone think this will fix the poor reception for those of us still on 2.0 FW?

So with this do we have to restore and start all over again ?

or can we just hit update and not have to lose apps and all other things we have at the moment ?

Improving the reception can't be the only thing it does because why would it be released for the first gen and the iTouch?

I updated my first gen. iPhone to 2.0.2 through iTunes, - I was a jailbroken/unocked PWN'd 2.0 that had updated>2.0.1 via iTunes prior to this.
Again, as with my first update, activation and unlock remain intact. The lack of Cydia doesn't bother me as we've now got Appstore.

    First Gen Bug fixes:
*Keyboard lag eliminated for SMS/Notes/Safari (back to 1.4 quickness)
*Keypad lock now instant (back to 1.4 quickness)
    *Home key lag eliminated
*Contacts button lag reduced - not eliminated

Why oh why Apple wasn't this sorted with all your beta releases before official release of 2.0!? Even 2.0.1 was buggy. Is this going to happen all over again when 2.1 is rolled out? Plus I want to know what software all the 3G iphones are running in the keynotes and on the Applewebsite!? Is it something we're all not privy to? They all run faster than any iPhone I've ever used. How about one of those updates?!

    Hi Guys,

Sorry to wanted to clarify a few things - I'm on firmware 2.0.1 - I have a first gen iphone - and have windows Vista.

Is there a way that I can update my iphone to firmware 2.0.2 and keep activation\jailbreak?

(sorry if this has been answered before)
