you can't make custom payloads. In other words you can't customize your firmware the way you like. Winpwn let's you do all that.

first of all this worked like a charm really fast and easy.. i just noticed the next day that i can't connect to my wifi network.. it get's to the part were i enter my password then crash's and say's can't connect.. any help would be appreciated..

after doing this i end up with this pineapple icon and a little circle at the bottom.. nothing happens...
whats wrong?

well i tried it
and it seemed successful
but it just added the pinapple loading screen
and my phone still had all the apps, recent calls, sms msg and stated it was still 2.0

so i just winpwn'd it agian
worked great !!!!!!!

Just let it sit until it loads. Can take a little bit. Some have reported up to 30 minutes.

2.0.1 3g

Upgrade to 2.0.2 in itunes. Copy the 2.0.1 firmware into the quickpwn folder and pwn it again. Should fix your issue and get you all updated.

ive used winpwn like 20 F-ing times and i still get a locked iphone 2g running 2.0 so i decided lets try 201 haha! same ****

so i ran the quikiepwn program and at last a jailbroken iphone 2g but guess what i cant use it for a phone-can some one tell me if i download boot-something to downgrade the baseband can i unlock my iphone

P.S.A-HOLE REPLIERS NEED NOT APPLY JUST BECAUSE IM HAVING PROBLEMS DOESNT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO RUN YOUR MOUTH

I used QuickPwn on my 2.0.2 Iphone 2g. It worked perfectly and still shows that I have 2.0.2 as my current version. This only jailbreaks and puts Cydia on it. But I want to use Fring so I used Bootloader to unlock it. Now I need to activate it so I can use my ATT Tilt 3g SIM card in it. I downloaded the lockdownd file and tried to use Cyberduck to access the files and switch out this file to activate it but I could not establish a connection to the phone.

Does anyone know if the GUI version of QuickPwn will activate, or have a link to Iactivator to download and take care of this issue.

Was your phone unlocked prior to the factory update of 2.0.2? was it ever pwned?

it wasnt pwnd but i fixed the problem..i just used winpwn to modify the 2.0.1 file then just loaded it up through itunes and everything went good!

Yep now update to 2.0.2 shift+restore and then use the quickpwn again. Now that youve pwned the phone this process will work.

1) Drop an unmodified 2.0.1 IPSW downloaded directly from Apple into the same
folder as the quickpwn.exe binary.

Cant I download 2.0.2 instead and put in the folder ?

I have Iphone already on 2.0 ,

So what do i do ?

First, Im assuming you have a 1st gen.

The reason they say to drop it into the same folder is so you know which file to use and where to find it. People have been actually dropping this directly onto the .exe and that wont do it. Since your phone is already pwned on 2.0 you can try to update via itunes for 2.0.2 if that doesnt work download a factory 2.0.1 and a 2.0.2 firmware. Put your phone into DFU mode and shift + restore to 2.0.2
Your phone should appear to be getting a signal but stuck on the emergency screen.
then open quickpwn and when it says browse, find the 2.0.1 firmware.
then follow the steps, and voila!

Note: I tried using a 2.0.2 file in quickpwn, and I only was successful using the 2.0.1 file. Some say they are able to do this, but I think this has to do with some might have an ipod touch or 3G and dont need an unlocked phone to use with tMobile. Using the 2.0.1 to JB 2.0.2 with quickpwn is how it worked for me.

The email is the usual fix... download BossPrefs from Cydia
open Bossprefs and go to the "more" tab on the top right.
click "fix user dir permissions"
That should resolve your email issue.

Also make sure youve done all essential updates through Cydia. It has a few core utils and sources that you need anyway. Once this is done proceed to use BossPrefs.

Before you start to set all this up, have you restored a backup from itunes?
