New Apple Update for iPhone - v1.0.2

Apple released the new 1.0.2 update today. It's not yet known what impact this will have on existing mods...but it is a full update, with a huge 91.2mb download for the full restore. I will post any learnings...

The update requires agreement to a new Terms of Service (TOS) as well as a brief description of what it does. I will upload the TOS word doc to MMi in case anyone is interested in the legal ramifications of the upgrade...

im reading the update info and manual and TOS but im concerned that Apple is being a big vagina face when it comes to standing up to ATT

Oh no it does something, they kick you down and say that you aren't allowed to mess with the update files and all this other stuff they added about how the software is "licensed" and the usual 'balls -> vice grip' that companies do on their customers.

The script to to get InstallerApp on has been update to the 1.0.2 update.

Guys it's on the first post. This patch was simply bug fixes. Nothing more.

I don't know if this is thanks to the fixes with this or the previous patch, but I just realized I can now rate movies on Netflix through my iphone (before you couldn't click on the stars)

I just checked and can rate movies with 1.0.1. I have heard that scrolling of partially loaded pages is improved.

i have been able to ./jailbreak and use iphoneinterface...also tested/validated ability to change out icons...

ssh install script for mac OS X works...connected via SSH

updated version number on theme installer script and pf_skin.ipb theme...works!

installer.app installed...and working

No...everything went as normal...(i'm on a mac)

I did the update, everthing works fine, ssh is all good, all apps work like ususall, no "Apple" updates though...

Is Apple just sitting on their collective *** in regards to necessary features updates? I'm a more than happy iPhone user thanks to NES and Installer apps, but anybody without a modded iPhone stands to be ridiculed by anybody with a decent Nokia or LG... I mean the killer user interface and the cleanness the phone has can only go so far in living up to the $650.00 (w/ tax) price-tag and the crappiness that is AT&T.

I want 4 simple features that my 3 year old Motorola v400 had:

-Video Recording (even if it's just a 30 sec clip for the time being)
-MMS
-Native IM client
-Native Games

I know that these features can take time to develop, but it's been almost 50 days and two official updates with very little to add to th shiny goddess that is the iPhone.

Get on the ball Apple.
Or release an actual SDK so others can get on the ball for you!
