Not sure if I'm just retarded or what, but I follow the directions exactly and my iphone still looks the exact same, no Cydia, Installer, nothing different. Hope someone can help!

Hi All.

I'm having a strange problem. I've never been able to make a custom .ipsw file with th pwnage tool. With the original verion (well 2.01) of pwnage I tried making 3 different ipsw files, and while they would load, they didn't show the icon for Cydia, so were basically useless. I finally downloaded a pwned .ipsw file from a website (there were several around due to the lack of a windows version), and it worked fine. Now with pwnage 2.02 I tried again, also with no luck. I tried 3 different times, the last one using the simple mode, but all of them just lock up at the pineapple logo with a frozen wheel icon (I don't know what it's called) over top of it. Could somebody please make a custom .ipsw for me that doesn't have the custom icons in it, but otherwise is pretty much a basic file (I don't need lots of extras, of course Cydia. If somebody could do that I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I almost forgot.. I have a first gen iPhone, not the 3G.

EDIT: Just wanted to let everyone know I found the file I need, just did a search, and found a torrent with the file. I'm downloading it now, hopefully it works!

Hey, just wanted to point out that my apps. aren't loading at all. the oem apps load but 3rd parties crash and cydia nore installer have no packages listed.

Update: Restored clean, then pwnd and it worked!

I just upgraded my pwnaged iphone 3G from 2.0 > 2.0.1.

My question is are the apps from cydia that I installed previously meant to be gone? Seems annoying to have to re-install them all again when ever I upgrade the firmware...

i upgraded my 2g iphone just fine from 1.4 fw, but cydia just keeps crashing. any solutions>?

1st gen 8g iphone, mac osx. Problem: I'm holding down the Option button like it tells me to when i click the restore button but a "are you sure?" window pops up instead of a window where i choose the custom firmware. can anyone help me on this? please and thank you.

Upgraded my 3G from 2.0 > 2.0.1 with installer and everything seems to be working fine. GPS did not work at the beginning after upgrade but I just turned 3G & wifi off the tried to locate me on edge and it worked. Turened both back on and I was good! Cydia seems the same and the keyboard lag is better but not all the way gone my 1st gen with 114 still rocks this thing in speed of typing. Ok INSTALLER my old friend installer. What the hell is going on with the file error when going through the catigories?? If anybody has any fix please I would love to know. But other than that pwnge for mac worked great and I was up on 2.0.1 in about 20 min top.

It mayb becuz your putting your phone into restore mode and not dfu mode..... plug the phone in open itunes hold the power n home buttton count to ten the screen will go black once uve counted to ten let go the power button and continue to hold the home button until itunes reads the phone in restore(dfu) mode then press optin look for your custom firmware and load it into the phone.........



I have 2 2g iPhones and 1 3g... ive Pwnd all of them but ive only pwnd 2.0.1. into 1 2g and my 3g but when its done i only get the installer app and not the cydia app in the phones.. Ive included it into the firmware through the Pwnd tool but it doesnt show up in my phones.... I used ifuntastic to get into my phones and i see cydia and im assuming the permissions are not set properly...... Is there any way i can get them to show up in my phones???

This is the same bloody thing i have been asking, the winpwn guide that was posted is for the 3g iphone, i asked before if it could work on the 2g phone, and no response, my advice at this point is to just restore back to 2.0 and when the bigboss has a tutorial for both phones you can upgrade,

im using an iphone 3g with a german t-mobile complete contract.
is there any problem concerning the apn, because with the first iphone there were a lot of people getting high bills because of wrong apn settings.

Everything worked fine for me except the mail. When i try to check mail, it shows a white screen, as if its loading kinda slow, then it just exits out back to the springboard... Does anyone else have this problem? Or maybe someone can throw me a solution to fix this?

After creating my custom IPSW and successfully restoring the iPhone 3G from DFU mode my iphone no longer has any service, and is unable to connect to WiFi.

Anyone have this problem? or know why this might have happened? I tried it 3 times. Finally just restored to the standard 2.0.1 and have no issues but I really want to be pwnaned!

Pwned 2.0.1 and installed both Cydia and Installer. Cydia unfortunately does nothing but crash. Installer 4 beta runs just fine.
