Dumb question, once i installed the new firmware...how do I get it out of recovery mode (where it shows the cable and the itunes logo)... it tried ziphone and ibrickr and neither seemed to work for it.

can someone plz help me, im stuck and my iphone 2g cannot be restored, itunes gives me the error everytime please help asap, srry im new here

Finally got WinPwn to run in my machine. In case anyone has the same problem, make sure you have .Net 2.0 installed on your machine (go to windows update)

Now as stated by RaMod in several post, can someone confirm if I have the right firmware for my phone?

I downloaded this iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108_Custom_Restore.ipsw from .Mac - iDisk which I intend to use on my iPhone 3G (already jail broken with 2.0) and I am an AT&T Customer.

You do have the correct FW for the 3G!

Just put your phone in DFU mode and use that Custom FW with iTunes by pressing Shift+Restore and then select the Custom File.

PS: since u have WinPwn you can now make your own Custom FW. But since u have one allready it will be much faster for u to pwn your iPhone!

No matter what i do or how i create the custom file, i always get error 6....i'll just wait for the new version of winpwn with all the bugs fixed.....2.0 is working good for me right now

Thank you for the confirmation. I still havent tried to install the firmware into my phone using iPhones like you said, I was considering to create a custom firm; however, I tried loading the .PSW file into WinPnw and got the following message:

8/9/2008 4:05:29 PM - Unknown file: C

Documents and Settings\WillJV\Desktop\iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108_Cust om_Restore.ipsw

Because of this I am not able to continue as the IPSW builder button is grayed out. I did double check that my iTunes app is 7.7.1 which is the current one.

Any suggestions?

What you need to do is to use a FRESH FW file! U r using a Custom FW file and that's why the WinPwn is not taking it. Make sure u r using a new apple FW file and then pwn it

Once u pwn an original FW you CAN NOT use it again to make another custom FW!

So this might sound noob, but i'm a little confuse about this.

I use windows, have 3g already jailbroke using winpwn 2.0.0.3. I want to use the 2.0.0.4 but i am not going to update (itunes firmware or new version) like the developers and cydia say.) So if i use 2.0.0.4 do i use the ispw. of the old one (version 2.0 (5a347) or the new one (the 2.0.1 (5b108)? I have it all open but i'm just not sure which version to use, or if i should just wait.

I went over a few post where it stated I do not have to check the activation box or the YouTube fix as I am a current AT&T customer. Is that correct?

I found this one iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347 over at http://www.********************/2008...-20-jailbreak/ is that the one i need or is that the 2.0 Firm?

Nevermind my last post... that's the 2.0 (which I already have)... I'm still searching for a FW that i can use with WinPwn....

/tmp is a "temporary" file directory.

1. open terminal
2. cd /tmp
3. sudo rm -rf *

see... people will help you when you type in proper English...

Make sure you UPDATE iTunes to the most recent version.

So.. have mac.. Had pwned 2.0 Updated to 2.0.1 via iTunes since i wont be unlocking. Pwned 2.0.1 and now have no service... Any ideas???
