All i use mines for is : Phoning, SMS, Email, MSN Messenger, Playing Games, Camera, Listening to music,Checking news and Digg. Thats all i need it for - No need to jailbreak for me

I have also just upgrade my pawnd 2.0 first gen iPhone and can report it keeps the sim unlock and activation and is now on FW 2.0.1

Carrier pack update for Telstra also worked fine.

This was the simplest upgrade of them all, maybe Apple is truely giving up on keeping the first gen un-hacked.

The only thing I use on my iPhone is ...erm....... nothing really. I hardly ever call or text. Never used camera not even on previous phones. Never use internet or iPod, for some reason I still use my iPod video. Don't use mail beacause can't access hotmail.

I don't even know why I bought it, think the only reason was to show off and laugh at people who can't afford it. lol

It worked great, no troubles and it is amazing the speed I got back on the 2G iphone! Great update! You only lose jailbreak program, but it is unlocked and everything works great!

i keep getting a error 5 whenever im trying to upgrade or restore my pwned 2.0 iphone to the 2.0.1, but when i hit restore to the pwned 2.0 firmware it restores perfectly ok... hmmmm

I can also confirmed my original iPhone 8GB, pwn'd to 2.0 by Pwnage Tool 2.0.1 Mac. Updated to 2.0.1 via iTunes 7.7.1 and unlock and activation still remains. Cydia and stuff are all gone now which I don't mind because 2.0.1 is much snappier so far.

BTW, what happen if I have to restore? Will it stay unlock and activated? I am using the iPhone not in the US. Thank you.

All and all, the firmware update does provide some reliability, and smooths things out. I'll try to tax it later on with running GPS and the ipod at the same time. In the past that's crashed the map program as the phone got really warm.

Like some people, I'm probably going to downgrade unless 2.5 takes care of this small patch.

What is the baseband thing I've been hearing about that might make it impossible to jailbreak in the future? I'm still new to the jailbreak/software end of things...
