Thread: Firmware 2.0.1 is available.

I just upgraded my pwned 2.0 iPhone on T-Mobile UK through iTunes to 2.0.1. Jailbreak is gone but the phone remains activated and unlocked. Make sure to hit upgrade, not restore!

I will also confirm that this method works. I just brought my firmware back to 2.0 from 2.0.1 and everything is as it was before upgrading. Synced my apps back onto the phone, used Cydia to bring back SSH, etc..., used MobileMe to sync my contacts back and all is well.

can you guys tell me what modem driver are you running when you reverted back to 2.0 ?

  4. #224
You will lose your lock!! 2.0.1 updated the baseband which is exactly what pwnage exploits.

so what now im screwed ???
how can this be if people in previous posts are downgrading fine from 2.0.1 back to 2.0.

i have no problem calling my carrier and saying i have a defect and get a new phone in 2 days, but would like to figure it out first...

WRONG! I did not lose my unlock status. I was on pwnd 2.0 and i UPDATED to 2.0.1 and I was still unlocked and activated.
The Baseband version of 2.0.1 is 04.05.04_G and if i'm mistaken thats the same baseband as 2.0

For my part, I have a 3G iPhone with contract. I used my macbook (w/ Leopard) along with Pwnage 2.1 and the 2.0 (347) firmware to create a custom firmware and then simply downgraded using the custom firmware. I never received any errors whatsoever. All the apps and contacts are back on my phone and everything works as normal (well, as normal as 2.0 firmware allows your phone to be).

I would assume that the baseband is still the one that came with 2.0.1 and realize that there is no way to downgrade that at this time but I can live with it.

I think he's referring to the 3g. The baseband might be upgraded on the new iphone and not the old one

they apparently have a hacked 2.0.1 firmware that jailbreaks 3g iphones.

    It uses xpwn.

Mods, if the link is in violation, please edit.
I can confirm this to work.

wonder how long it will take to get a jailbreak for this version. I havent heard anything from the Dev team regarding a possible release. Are they waiting for Installer to be officially released 1st?
