I put it in without a problem, and I mainly did it for the text lag which is REALLY irritating, and so far, it's gone, but the GPS is still weird.

origional 3g 2.0 firmware
updated to 2.0 hacked
updated to 2.0.1
now trying to downgrade back to 2.0 stock or hacked and getting error 1013 no matter what, i heard thats because my modem firmware is different then the firmware and that its just stuck in recovery, however i cannot unlock it or take it out of recoverymode,
anything u can suggest for a 3g running 2.0.1?

I was successful downgrading from 2.0.1 to 2.0. I have the 3g
1. With your 3g plugged in and 2.0.1 installed open pwnage (i'm on a mac)
2. Choose the 2.0 software (5a347)
3. Let it build the custom restore all over again with the 2.0.1 3g plugged in
4. It will ask for your password, give it to it to finish the build.
5. Follow the directions after the build to shut down then go into DFU
6. Load the "new" custom restore build
7. Wait and you will have a 2.0 jailbroken 3g again.
At least it worked for me

All I did to go back from 2.0.0 is put my 3G phone back in to DFU mode and restored to the 2.0.0 Custom firmware built my pwnage. No error messages if you use DFU

Not to post warez stuff, but has anyone seen this.
Warez-BB.org :: Log in
they apparently have a hacked 2.0.1 firmware that jailbreaks 3g iphones.
It uses xpwn.

Went ahead and took the 3G phone back to 2.0 from 2.01. Everything works but it was a drag to have to set it up as a new phone since it wouldn't restore the backup done when it was on 2.01. One good thing about having mobileme is that my contacts and calender stuff shows up almost instantly when I enter in the mobileme account into the phone. Oh, and and doing a sync with iTunes did reload all my appstore apps including the account info for some of them like twinkle.
cheers,
Joe

Upgraded to 2.0.1 and then found I needed to go back to 2.0 jailbroken for good reasons. Tried and got error 6 non-stop. After spending hours trying to use iTunes 7.5 and 7.6 to install 1.1.4 and jailbroken 2.0 I gave up. Went to 2.0.1 again and it worked fine. Tried 2.0 a bunch more times with no success. Stuck on 2.0.1 now but if I could get to 2.0 jailbroken I may be able to do some very good things.

what are you using to restore? custom or official FW? if your using custom or even official FW and not having a carrier... re-restore but before you actually do the restore remove your sim card... do the restore and once it completes unplug your iPhone reinsert you sim card plug it back into iTunes and setup as new phone.... worked for me

Upgraded. And it's definitely worth it if you visit forums a lot on you iphone. No more crashes, and far less keyboard lag.
I wasn't jailbroken anyway, waiting for winpwn 2.5 and/or FW 2.1.
