Perhaps, but again, like I've said before--the kinda people who are spending this kinda money on this kinda device are also the people who are nearly always by an open WiFi network. Ubergeeks, if you will.

yeah, I didn't mean they would return their phones, I just meant they would return to say it wasn't working as fast as it did in the store. Then the guy will test it out (with the WIFI connection) and it'll be BLAZING again! Some people will be shocked at the difference between WIFI and EDGE.
Won't be a problem for me. I'm just glad it's got EDGE instead of GPRS. Now that would be like pulling teeth.

I'll have wifi in my classroom next year and I've already got it at home, but there will be times when I'll be away from it so EDGE will have to do.

Then people testing out the iPhones should go into settings and turn wifi off and test it on edge.
When we were looking at the 3G's at the apple store, I ran a net speed test with a 3G phone in wifi, 3G, and in edge. There was a guy standing next to me watching me play with the settings and doing the network speed tests. He was pretty amazed that I even thought to do that. Duh? why wouldnt I?
