Just noticed a few cracks near the headphone jack and silence switch. Took 8 months of some pretty hard use and several drops before it started getting cracks. Think this may be an opportunity for a new colored back.

I will also include my sad fate along with the rest of you, first there was a very slight crack on the top beside the headphone jack, now it has increased to a small portion (piece) almost coming off. There goes the resale value! :S wanted to sell it buy the 3GS (now that jailbreak is inevitable) . guess going to hold on to it for a while now, still love IT!!

Three words: "bar of soap." First time I felt my friend's 2G iPhone, I thought it was the most slippery cell phone I had ever held. It was almost like your hands HAD to be sweaty to grip it without it slipping out of your hand. And I wasn't a big fan of the two-toned deal. And I think the aluminum actually disrupted service, cause often I will be sitting next to a friend with a 2G and he will have 2 or 3 less bars than me. Physical appeal was almost non-existant to me for the first iPhone, save for that gorgeous screen, but we got that in the new ones too.

EDIT: Wait a sec...I just posted in a bumped 3-month old thread? *cuts self*

I had a iphone 3g over 8 months and I had the zagg protector on but it doesnt protect the area around the charging part and headphone jack. I never had the issue. You guys should learn to love your phone more. I never drop my phone. I protect it with my life.
