1.1.3 Jailbreak Achieved - not public yet

The iPhone dev team has achieved 1.1.3 jailbreak on both the iPhone AND the iPod Touch. The jailbreak solution has NOT been released to the public, and according to them will not be until February when the SDK releases, that way Apple doesn't get to see the method, and break it before the SDK releases - jailbreak + SDK = awesome app functionality, for that free price we've all come to love for iPhone applications (but always remember - if you like an app, DONATE TO THE DEV!!!!!).

Once the jailbreak is made public, make sure you toss some fundage over to the dev team for their work. (Their site is down right now or I'd link - will add link when its back up). Rock n' roll, folks, the cat and mouse game continues.

I can easily wait until Feb for some new changes.

At first I was mad, but then I realized every feature they added in 1.1.3 (other than movie store) I already have via jailbreak. Smart move hanging on until SDK release. You guys rock.

from installer there is a file you can dl that makes itunes think you have 1.1.3 so it doesnt ask you to update, and im pretty sure that that guy in the video just installed that

Well according to El Jobso the sdk will be released in Late February as stated in his macworld keynote.

I dont understand apple is going to hear about the jailbreak obviously and even if they dont know exactly how it was achieved they can still change the security so its different when they release 1.1.4 right??

no worries, the devs have unlocked/jailbroke 1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3. Do they care for the security that apple is introducing?
