[Release] colloQ IRC Client - everything you wish mColloquy would do.
ModMyI is happy to announce the release of colloQ by mbranes, a heavily modified version of the original mColloquy for the iPhone.

From mbranes google code:
colloQ is feature packed with many things that you just need to have in an irc client including:ColloQ was inspired by my early experiences with mColloquy. Thrilled at finding a functioning IRC client for the iPhone, I also found myself saying "I wish it did X ... I wish it did Y ... why doesn't it have Z?" The source code was publicly available, so I thought what better way to learn iPhone programming than to tinker with an existing app.- More notifications are visible: joins, parts, nick changes, etc.
- Channel/PM timestamp
- Activity notification on main chats screen
- Channel member list allows access to user functions:
- Start/Resume PM
- Op, Deop
- Ban, Kick
- PM views now include a "Close PM" button
- Fonts and icons are now smaller - screen real estate is precious!
- "slash" commands: /join, /me, /msg, /query, /nick, /ns, /cs, /ms, /os, /raw
Also many of the bugs from the original mColloquy have been fixed including loss of first message and the all annoying crash when following web links!
For more information please refer to the google code page.
This is an Official ModMyI release and is available through our installer source. You will find it under the Network menu in Installer.
Also, be sure to come join us on the ModMyI IRC channel. #ModMyI on irc.moofspeak.net!!!!!
Oh and can't forget, some screenies

Yeah! no more crashing when I try to kick people off channel

twitter.com/dale1vMicrosoft owns the internet through Hotmail. The .HTML is short for Hotmail, so all .HTML files are MS files.

Can u add the Channel Topic Title ??

How come when I key in irc.stratics.net it doesn't connect to the server? It just shows a blank screen, without any connection messages. Do I need any other apps to be able to run this?

jake12,
I can't visualize where you're getting what you describe. The normal procedure is:
- start app
- tap "connections"
- tap "add"
- enter all the info (at minimum, server, port, nick and at least one channel to connect to)
- tap the "connections" button to go back
- you should see your server entry there now. Just tap on it to connect.
- the little circle on the left will turn green when you're connected to that server.
- click "Done". the window will slide down, and you should see an entry for your channel there.
Right now, colloQ doesn't show you all the initial server connetion stuff that you see in other clients.
Hope that helps!

I was having the same problem, now I realize I just forgot to add what room to join. Jake under auto connecting put it in "Join Rooms" in the automatic section.
Hope this helps.Last edited by pyro3rg; 01-16-2008 at 12:18 PM.

Cool, but is it just me, or are all the typing assistants (spellcheck etc) disabled? They were in the first release of mColloquy, too.

yes, i read it, and i am pretty sure the fellow above me did as well. the question is, WHAT is it for? We see what it does from its specs, but, what is this all about. from what i read on this page it looks like and kinda' sounds like a chat client; im probably wrong. i just got home from a 14 hour work day, please explain. thank you.

Am I the only person who's having an issue downloading anytng off of installer.
It loads the sources and right as the installer script starts it goes back to the springboard immediately.

You're out of space. Uninstall something, install BossTool, and move your Applications folder.
