warning - noob question:
Ok, so if my phone is jailbroken for 1.1.2 and I update to 1.1.3 will all my apps and customizations be safe, and will I still be able to fiddle with them? (not unlocked)

If you upgrade and you already have a jailbroken 1.1.2 iphone then when you upgrade it will no longer be jailbroken and your apps will not work until a new jailbreak is made?
Sorry if i sound like a noob i am trying to understand all this stuff. It's only impossible if you quit.

Not for nothing but, WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING!!!!
Just because all the other cattle are running thru the gate doesnt mean you should.
I figure either Apple has decided to embrace the jailbreaking community and stop trying to make it difficult or, they are giving the illusion of making it easy to get all of us in the big net.
As for me, I will wait a week or two to see how the true experts work thru the details of this update and then, use my judgement to decide the future of my iphone experience. 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 ???????????????
I want to use it all but, not at the ultimate price....
Everybody, read, be patient and wait for the experts to work thru it.
By the way, is the 1.1.2 unlock available yet?Week 48 1.1.2 Downgraded, Jailbroken, and working with stealthsim on Tmobile...
01-15-2008, 06:45 PM #89Baseband and boot loader version?
For those of you that updated. If any of you were NOT oob 1.1.2, what is the baseband and boot loader version. ( may not be able to find out boot loader version) Just go to settings > general > about > Modem Firware, for the base band version.

Do custom SMS ringtones still work after upgrading?
01-15-2008, 07:14 PM #91has anyone installed itunes 7.6 with a jailbreaked 1.1.1?
i'm on rogers in canada with a jailbroken 1.1.1 iphone.
i'm not asking about 1.1.3, but i am wondering if anyone with a jailbroken 1.1.1 iphone has successfully updated itunes to 7.6 without incident.
again - i don't care about 1.1.3 - i'll wait till there's a proper process (if ever) to update the firmware on jailbroken phones.

If I buy some week 49 phones with 1.1.2 OTB and want to jailbreak them and leave them in 1.1.2 what will happen after i downgrade>appsnapp>oktoprep> and try upgrading. Will it upgrade me to 1.1.2 if i have iTunes 7.5 or will it go all the way to 1.1.3? What can I do if i want to do that and upgrade to 1.1.2? will I need to leave it in 1.1.1 or does it work if i press OPTIONKEY update and choose the 1.1.2 firmware and then just use the jailbreak.jar?

Pros: You can have music on the phone, then delete it on your PC and when you sync, the song will stay.
Cons: it's hell to manage when you say update/add lyrics on the PC file, making me have to search/delete/replace the corresponding songs on the iPhone.
I'm manually managing my music but keeping a playlist of what's on the phone in case I make some big changes to my music.
