Everyone calm down. Apple OS is written in Unix based language... when ported to Windows the ENTIRE program must be re-written for this work work which is a massive undertaking. This is why the first Winpwn took 2 months to come out after Pwnage. Give it a couple days to work the bugs out.. these guys are working hard to give you FREE software.

i tryed on 7.7, and 7.5 neither worked. my 7.5 keeps getting errors after i put the iphone in DFU mode. also these are working on two totally different computers to minimize the chances of the two itunes versions conflicting.


Anyone get it to work yet??????????

i cant believe i tried to get this to work for 10 hours. if you havnt attempted this yet, just wait until there is an update. this doesnt work.

for those of you who got it to work, does it work with cydia NOT being checked? i now have 2 phones i have to do with with, both first gen... so i'm just screwing around with the smaller one...

I can't get mine to build a iPSW so I'll just wait a bit to see what happens with the new one that's coming out today. Hopefully they'll explain it a little more.

Pretty awesome how quickly this came out though, GREAT job!

Ok, so mine worked and I'm on 2.0 unlocked/jb, BUT there seems to be a few errors with it.

1. The Mail app doesn't load, I press it and it loads a white screen.
2. The Cydia app is there, but when it refreshes, I get an error.
3. It seems I can't delete my email account (restored from before), even after I press delete, it's still there?!

Anybody who has had these problems, please post if you have any idea how to fix them. Please, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You have to make sure that you start out as a fresh iphone in iTunes. If you back up and restore the back up you can have these problems.

that's the general gist i've been getting, i freaked out when i saw that it was out already, and was really tempted to try it on my lunch, now i'm probably going to wait until they release it today with the cydia fix... a few more hours won't kill us... right?

Its just doesnt work, I had problems with the whole process from start to finish. I really love winpwns offical instructions, a nice 4 step process. Cheers for making us look like gourmless t**ts infront of mac

Right now im restoring back to 2.0 (custom ipsw gets an error (8) message) and Im getting real pi**ed off having to minamise itunes repeatedly because it thinks it can own my desktop.

Next time you make some software, make sure it works before you release it, and give detailed instructions so mongaloids like me can use it.

And my iTunes is running 7.7.

Try a normal restore mode instead of DFU, that's how I got mine to work.

If I choose to "setup as a new iphone", is there any way I can transfer my contacts? I don't mind losing music/settings/etc as long as I can keep my contacts info.

There's no way to output save to SIM and then import SIM again? Or something of the sort to backup my contacts?
