Ok guys... I successfully unlocked the phone (with an AT&T sim card) and gave the phone to a friend with T-mobile. I put in the wap.voicestream.com settings and YouTube worked fine. After an hour or so it stopped, as did Cydia. Safari still works though. Any idea what could be wrong?

P.S I am a newbie and not really tech savvy.I have gone through most of the posts looking for a similar problem but may have overlooked it.

I run Win XP.I downloaded 2.0 and winpwn 2.0.0.3 When i use the ipsw builder,if i have the install cydia option checked i cannot build a custom ipsw file.If i uncheck the cydia option the i can go ahead.What do i do ?

This is something of interest to me as well. Im on Tmo I have always used:
wap.voicestream.com
User Name: Guest
Password: Guest

One the 8 phones I pwned couldnt connect to these apps. to no avail. my friend who's phone it was, called TMobile (without my knowledge first) and they told him to use the "internet2" source. www.internet2.com UserName: (empty) Password: (empty) By the way they always tell you to use this when you call and I have never been able to get it to work. Now his seems to be working just fine using this.
Another interesting thing happened, the YouTube Error happened on my wife's phone. We just repwned her's using 2.0.0.3 again and it works just fine.
All of these phones mentioned are 1st gen. 2.0 not 3G

By they way Ive been out of town for a few days just got back, if anyone needs any help hit me up.

hi i just downloaded iphone 2.0 software via itunes and i clicked on download only option. the file download finished but i dont know where does itunes saves it? any hint will be great.

ps: i am using windows vista and the newest itunes version.

I recommend using the firmware the dev team provides. Also the thread topic has a link to winpwn 2.0 step by step. Included are all files neccessary to pwn your phone.. you can get it here--->
winpwn guide 2.0 and Use this link to Obtain winpwn 2.5 for 2.0 only!! Not 2.0.1 --->Winpwn 2.5

Now I am not aware that you are able to download firmware 2.0 anymore through itunes considering 2.0.1 is out so be careful and use the files provided in the guide above...

Hello 2 all members, i am really sick..allready 2 weeks trying to restore/activate/use sim on iPone but no luck...

Here is the problem
when i click "Jailbreak" alone the iPhone makes all the features active that iPod has, works for all options but only not for SIM, there is no mobile network, no-wifi, no BT, no IMEI.

So i tryed to restore it with iTunes 7.7 (last) and 7.5 (in DFUmode) but none firmware want work. Everytime displays another error (1604, 20, 1603, 6,etc..)

when i use 1.1.4 it works but only the ipod func. so i try refursbish with ziphone 2.5 and stuck at CFI Stage 1

i mean i tryed everything with no success.

If there someone who can try to get it work i would give him a remote access to my pc..

Could probably help you right here, for more information for users. Now what OS are you using? Which version of winpwn are you using? What phone do you have, and what service provider do you have? and btw Jailbreak does not activate SIM, that is known as unlocking. More info can help you greatly. Those error 6 messages arent bad either. close itunes and winpwn, open them again, Without restarting the phone and pwn itunes. continue steps. What options do you have checked? get a screen shot of what you select. If the phone jailbreaks, then you are doing it correctly. Also you should restore it to a factory 2.0 then proceed to pwn.

You cannot pwn 2.0 with itunes 7.5. and oh man forget it... Just go through and use search on this site. This has been covered over and over. You seem to have created a pretzel of registry entries and installation files on your computer. Clean it all out every bit.... every driver etc etc and start over completely.

It's not a problem to follow the guide and make a custom firmware, the problem is i cant restore it.. tryed all.

No you shouldnt find it nor use it. Every file you need will be available from them, as also specifically stated atop the new thread regarding pwning 2.0.1

The dev team also warns on their blog that you should not upgrade to firmware 2.0.1 via iTunes. Wait until PwnageTool 2.0.2 is released and upgrade to 2.0.1 with a custom ispw. Upgrading directly via iTunes will lessen the chances of you being able to unlock in the future.

So dont bother with keeping it until they provide the file or tell you how to obtain it. Dont get FW 2.0 confused with the one you just downloaded 2.0.1 and really this is the wrong topic to be discussing this.

Ok first do you have microsoft .net framework 2.0 installed? Do you have itunes 7.7 (not 7.7.1) installed? Are you using winpwn 2.0.0.3 or later? When in DFU (black screen) does itunes register your phone when you reopen it? What carrier are you running? again what do you have checked? screenshot helpful. You arent trying to pwn your phone to 1.1.4 are you?

You will not belive, i actually formated my os and installed framework2.0, iTunes7.7,pwn and still problems with restore.

Ok what carrier are you using? what do you have checked when creating? does you phone show the apple or pineapple then the pinwheel? or does it ever make it out of DFU to restore?

no..the pinapple shows when i try 1.1.4, but this firmware doesnt work now, yesterday worked only 1.1.4 but not any more error 1011.
