this sucks...mine always fails to write the custom ispw...i'm on a 2G 2.0 phone, windows xp, ATT. The only thing i have checked is install cydia. nothing else, especially since the custom logos won't be accepted. Anyone got any clues?

Ok just downloaded it and I cant load up custom images on phone. It sais "failed to load image catalog"

any ideas?

I'm pretty sure those images were tied to winpwn.com, which has been pwned by the bandwith nargles.

That part of WinPwn was working for me before winpwn.com went down. I assume that the images will start working once all this 2.0 craziness settles down.

Check the directory
CDocuments and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\cmw\winpwn\2.0..

Hey thanks for your reply about the images not loading I will give it some time to see if it settles down. About the error 1600 1604 1601 I got that error when my 2.0 restore.ipsw was not in my itunes device folder I made that folder, copied the ipsw into it and It worked fine

oh and what itunes are you using? Not sure if it matters for winpwn 2.0 but it wouldnt let me restore the custom ipsw unless I downgraded my iTunes back to 7.5

I upgraded to 7.7 for the drivers, went down to 7.5, pwned, then back to 7.7

worked on an both my iPhone 3g's and my First Gen iPhone

ok lets get some things strait
before you run this you need to be on 2.0
if your on another below 2.0 simply upgrade to 2.0
you dont need to goto 1.1.4 first just upgrade strait to 2.0
unlock only works on the 2G phones 3G is not unlocked and by what geohot has said i dont think its going to be unlocked any time soon
and i would recommend to SKIP using this version of WinpWn untill the problems are fixed
there is a problem with cyndia atm and its causing the ISPW creation to fail
so my advice is wait off untill tomorrow when the errors will be fixed

they must be 420x320 max 100kb

So I got all the way up to using iTunes and restoring, choosing my custom made iPSW. However, iTunes runs for a little bit, then tells me:

"iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred. (1601)."

I'm pretty darn sure I did everything right up to this point. What is this error?!?!?!
