It's a secret - they are Apple files - all I did was type the name of the files into GOOGLE and found them.

Alright I know someone will help me here. I am completely new to this. I have at@t 3g iphone. I want to jailbreak it with winpwn. Does it work? And if it does, does it install cydia? And what happened to installer. Do I need to check youtube activation. And what are bootloaders 3.9 and 4.6. I don't understand what that is. Do I need to check that? I would greatly appreciate a response.

Funny thing I just realized. If you correctly throw your phone in DFU mode (turn off -> hold home+power for 10 seconds, then release power while keeping home on hold) you can attempt to get the firmware to go through and if it gives you an error (1602 in my case), you can then just take your phone and hold power+home till you reboot the phone. Since the firmware didn't go through, your stuff is still there, so you don't need to restore.
The post RIGHT above you has them linked.

so people keep getting error's like 1600, 1601 and i was getting the same errors but i found that if u Shift+Click update and not restore u don't get the error's so try it out and tell me if that solves your problems and i was on 1.1.4

I've been going round in circles all day trying to install the custom 2.0 firmware I created with winpwn and nothing, I've tried uninstalling iTunes 7.7 and then installing iTunes 7.5 and that went fine until I tried to shift/click and restore with my custom 2.0 firmware and that didnt work.
I have had errors like (1), (1600), (1601) and (1602) but not once has it successfully restored eith the custom firmware.
I have gone back up to iTunes 7.7 and tried again and nothing, I have tried restoring with and without using DFU mode in both 7.5 and 7.7 versions of iTunes and nothing.
I dont seem to have any luck with DFU mode in my iPhone 3G but on my 1st gen iPhone the DFU mode showed a white screen but the iPhone 3G doesn't.
If people are successful with their mac pwnage tool why dont they just post their custom firmware for others to try??
I know that the dev's have worked long and hard on the winpwn tool and I'm forever grateful to them for their work but whats the point in releasing it if its this buggy??

Ive done everything by the book here verbatim. still getting ".....error line 1600"
OS: Vista
iPhone(1): 1st Gen. Unlocked with ZiPhone 3.0 running v1.1.4 ,TMobile actively working
iPhone(2): 1st Gen. Locked Out Of Box 2.0/or it had been restored when given to me.
Winpwn 2.0 (never had used nor installed 1.0)
Fresh 2.0 restore software downloaded from winpwn 2.0 guide on this thread
Custom Made 2.0 restore by winpwn.
iTunes 7.7
I followed instructions although a bit vague during the building process. I built the custom .ipsw with itunes open, phone on and in lockscreen. when i went to ipwner it cued me to open a file, so I chose the custom 2.0 and it said "itunes pwned" "now you can restore your phone in DFU mode" Ok so I have to reopen itunes because it shut it down, and put my phone in DFU mode by holding for 7 secs. until the screen went black like the video stated waited 2 more seconds then released the power button holding the home key until itunes chimed 2x in a row then released the home key. itunes says "...detected in restore blah blah.." clicked ok. held shift + clicked restore and loaded the custom 2.0 .ipsw it extracted then prepared for a brief moment then chimed 2x and poof there's my error! On both phones 1.4 unlocked and 2.0 locked. I repeated my steps over and over and also switched to my other pc which has xp media/pro and i even transferred the custom file to xp and winpwn made me create a new one which ultimately failed to create. so now I am sitting here wasted 4 hours and not a phone will pwn.... please help guys I am very literate in this matter and I can not seem to get this to work. I have been digging through this thread looking for an answer If i missed it its because my eyes are going crossed....
PS I never restarted the pc after installing winpwn, creating custom firmwares, even after 2 nights ago when I was only able to downgrade, unlock and activate on Tmobile , 2 of 3 phones that had 2.0 installed on them. The 3rd one which was downgraded/jailbroken successfully eventually but never could get a signal.. so i upgraded it back to 2.0 thinking I could downgrade again. well i restored it back to factory 2.0 locked just before I began this proccess today. I have been fighting these darn phones for a week....

Same.
I have the same problems. So far I have seen errors 1600, 1601, 6 and 1. I am able to restore back to original 3g 2.0 software, but can't seem to get this thing to jailbreak.
I was pretty excited about the 3g WINPWN but it isn't working. So while I am incredibly appreciative of the efforts by the Team...I haven't seen anything working yet...
