Great work. It's a step in the right direction. It's really nice to have inline youtube clips back. If you can get this to work for flash based radio station streaming I will be ecstatic.

Will Not Work
Hello everyone,
First off I would like to say I am new here and this is my very first post. I hope to be active and see some of you guys around. Anyway enough about me, lets move onto why I am posting.
For some reason, this works when you click on the link on the website but you can't bookmark it. Tried it using IE, done the IE workaround, downloaded Safari on my computer and syncs using both browsers and nothing works.
Heck I even thought I would just type out the whole thing and bookmark it that way, that don't work because the iPod Touch & I am sure the iPhone does not have the { in the keyboard. I searched and found nothing.
I was able to get the code bookmarked but it kept doing the corrupt bookmark as explained in the IE workaround:
http://code.google.com/p/itransmogri.../IE_Workaround
I used IE and synced it and it came up corrupt in the code thing, so then I tried Safari and the result is still the same. So unless someone finds a way to add bookmarks and allows this code to be bookmarked properly, I don't think its going to work. I can't wait for Apple to release the SDK cause then possibly we can see some possible flash plugins, thats my guess anyway.
So there you have it.

got it on my system using a little workaround
I right clicked the link on my computer then saved the text into an email. I edited it to add www.javascript.com/ infront of itall together so it would be a hyperlink in the email
then sent it off and opened the email on my phone clicked on the hyperlink which opened safari. Then I bookmarked the dummy link.
Went into edit mode and removed the part I added. Voila!
Too bad it sucks and doesn't work though on any flash site i tried except the authors own

Thanks

Yo I tried your workaround and it worked like a charm. Now im going to explain this to others.
go to your email on your computer and paste that code into your email
body. in front of the word javascript put http://www. then .com after the word javascript. email yourself and check your email on your iphone or touch and clicknon that link. then when the page starts to load bookmark it. then edit your bookmark that you just added but remove the http://www and the .com and then thats it. I tried this and finally it worked. Thanks to his suggestion i can write this useful tutorial. Hope this helps.Last edited by ma5t3rw1tt; 01-13-2008 at 04:48 PM.

It works great, here's how to do it (on a mac at least):
1. Open safari and create a new bookmark
2. For the bookmark address, use:
javascript:if%20(typeof%20iTransmogrify%20==%20%27 undefined%27)%20{d%20=%20document;s%20=%20d.create Element(%27script%27);s.setAttribute(%27src%27,%20 %27http://itransmogrify.googlecode.com/files/iTransmogrify.js?q=%27%20+%20(new%20Date).getTime( ));d.getElementsByTagName(%27head%27)[0].appendChild(s);}void%200;
*I obtained this code by doing a copy link from the iTransmogrify! link on the page. You can obtain this yourself by going to http://joemaller.com/2008/01/12/itransmogrify/ and right clicking on the link yourself.
**note, if you copy and paste the link from here and not from the original link, it will add spaces after each line and not work. So if you copy it from here, delete the spaces once you've pasted it in!
3. Sync iphone
4. Load any webpage with embedded youtube clips
5. Go to your bookmark and it should take only a few seconds
6. Click the video to open it in YouTube playerLast edited by ReidWings; 01-13-2008 at 07:20 PM.

Embed I think?
----
Well taking your guide, I just made it easier so people could understand.
Anyway to your question. I think it somewhat works on embed content. So like for example, say Lifehacker.com has a Youtube flash video embedded into their site because they need to show an example, I think it only works on embedded stuff. I don't know the full details on what does work, but I know Youtube videos do when they are embedded onto a website.
Now I have tried to play flash animations, websites such as newgrounds.com and nothing. I think maybe this is still an early concept, but I think sooner or later it will get better. This is the first step into having flash on the iPhone & iPod Touch, so lets not loose that hope. These 2 products have lots of potential, and these developers are starting to tap into what can really become something big for years to come. Take the PSP for example, excellent community behind the hacking scene there.
