So when I dled the firmware, it made it into a folder called "iPhone1,1_2" and inside is some dmg files and another folder.
No ispw file in sight.

@bubonicbryan - you need to download the .ipsw file through Firefox, Safari automatically uncompresses the file.

To me this says that the 3G iPhone can not yet be unlocked.. AND that if we're 1st Gen iPhone unlocked with T-mobile it will NOT work...
So for clarifications.. I have 1st Gen iPhone UNLOCKED with T-mobile.. Can I use this or not?!?!

how did you guys get it into dfu?
i tried typing it into terminal, but it keeps saying that it failed to enter DFU mode.
