Workaround for Windows PWNAGE users
I have a HP DV6000 with Windows Vista Home and really wanted to use PWNAGE today.
I modified a tutorial from Hack Attack : Dual Boot Leopard and Windows Vista | dailyApps to install OSX on an old external 80 gig hdd.
I then installed itunes 7.7 and PWNAGE 2.0 on the OSX installation. PWNAGE worked very smoothly.
Removed the external drive and boot cd, restarted the lappy into Vista and synced my newly pwned 1st gen 2.0 with my backup. now I don't have to wait for WinPWN!!!
Great work dev team!

If your ploblem was seeing t mobile logo but still not jailbroken only allowing you to do emergency calls just go through the pownage tool process while being on recovery mode the whole time and it should work

Thanx DEV team
I kept trying with it with my new shiny iphone 3g.. couldn't make it in the DFU step just like a lot of user reporting.... I tried mkdir“~/Library/iTunes/Device Support” but nothing
though i noticed it was always opening a folder with the name "Device" only without "Support"
So i tried the regular name editing on that folder and added "Support"
and boom everything is working just fine
enjoy you guys this great work from our beloved DEV team
and you guys in MMI thanx for keeping us updated all the time

Be carefull I now have an IBRICK with the 1604 error due to using this software
I was using a 1.4 firmware 1st gen phone which is now bricked since using the 2.0 Pawnge Software.
Had a look and there is no real answer to fixing your phone when it comes up with 1604 error during restore.

Please learn how to comprehend....
1st Gen phone will unlock to Tmobile....
3G will not unlock to Tmobile..
How do you want the guy to say it?
If you can't read don't use the guide....
Please...

I thought the dev team said this was only possible using Ziphone?
Boy...talk about killing the cat......
I repect their work but the lenght steps makes using this tool so uncomfortable...
Why go thru all that? Why can't Just jailbreak or unlock the install Firmware from Itunes like Ziphone? Just in case anyone knows.Last edited by ThinkTank; 07-20-2008 at 07:30 AM.

Error six is a hardware fault try a different usb port
Option + Click then look for it
Basically the same way you do the phone only select the ipod touch then just follow the directions. the same, you just wont have to unlock or activate
Again error 6 is a hardware issue try a different usb port
This is a lot safer, think of it as getting a custom firm ware from apple (sort of) I used ziphone before and it worked great for a while then I had a bunch of issues. Ziphone does things to your phone I dont know what but they are not that stable a lot of posts about his on the site.

OK, I don't think anyone has asked this:
I have a 1st Gen iPhone.
I upgraded to 2.0 when it came out. I am currently in 2.0. To jailbreak, do I need to downgrade to 1.1.4? If so, how would I do that?
